Master Chris Avellone. As in the guy that made, amongst other things, Planescape: Torment.

You know after the MeToo movement you would think people would be more weary to just listen and believe all women. But then again as with most things in life I’m constantly disappointed in the human race.
Why would anyone need MeToo to learn that?

Oh I think we will be seeing women suffer the consequences of their actions in the coming months. Guess who are the first people on the chopping block for these studio layoffs? I'll give you a hint. It isn't the men who do most of the heavy work and were hired on merit instead of filling a DEI checkbox.

For people in the know on female behaviour then it’s a no brainer but for the average normie it was a big walk up call.

Vara compiled a list of cringe activists that supported the game. It's not exactly a must-see video, unless you don't know who the usual suspects are.

(reminder for everyone here: I am blocked by Jason Schreier because I defended MCA; and Alyssa Mercante is comparing things to her period - so, yeah, people are getting pretty screetchy)

edit for pic. Might have to zoom, I tried to fit it in one screenshot.

Interesting. Good PR move at relatively little cost to themselves given that it's already a 100+ million dollar bomb. Spending a few a million more to garner some goodwill seems worth it.

For now I’m sure they have some live service game coming down the pipe line ,probably retrofited to a beloved / popular Sony game from the past.

The game is online only and requires other players to even be usable as a product.
The servers were costing more than the money they were making.

There's no way they could shut down the servers and make the game unplayable without administering refunds. There's no charity or "good PR" here - just avoiding a lawsuit.

Other than some likely-censored remakes, Assassin's Creed: Shadows is next to undergo the trial.

Aaah right, already forgot about that masterpiece. Sadly not on Steam day1 so devs/journos will most likely act like its a bigger hit than WuKong anyway. What a year for gaming :bounce:

In a world of Emulation and GigaChad Video cards - I always wonder who buys consoles. Especially when the game catalog is trash.

Who would spend a premium on ****** hardware just to play some ****** slop that ends up on PC better anyways? WHO?

Both of those should survive due to their IP name recognition (same as Star Wars Outlaws). Hell, if anyone in Bioware's Marketing Division had two braincells, they would branded Veilguard as "Baldur's Gate 3 with Action Combat". Shadows will probably underperform, but at least they'll have the numbers to finally claim that "most players actually chose the female main character" for once.

I'd expect the next flop to be this:

I want schrier to explain what the "hook" of Paladins is, a knockoff overwatch clone that has remained popular for years.

I can take a guess, at least.

Baguette sisters, I don't feel so good...

Outlaws and WE WUZ SAMURAI are the only two big Ubisoft titles they're going to be releasing in a long time, a lot is riding on them. Outlaws is already underperforming, Ubisoft's stock was already cratering a day before the game was to officially launch, and it has just kept going down since. AssCreed: ****** has been mired in controversy after controversy, especially in the Japanese market, where AssCreed is fairly popular, so we can expect it to perform very badly.

Ubisoft has been taking Ls for a long time, and especially in 2024 - they've already laid off a bunch of their workers, and after their two newest turds flop one after the other, there's going to be even more layoffs.
