Someone ping me when there's talk of a lawsuit. I want to see what kind of people would go to court in order to play this more.
They're refunding all digital copies so I don't see where a law suit could come from.

They knew what they were making was bad, or at least many did.

I never heard of Concord until just before late beta. Did you?
Did you see the characters before that? Any gameplay?
If not, consider that there's a reason: people in the company knew gamers wouldn't like what they saw.

It's super easy to bamboozle corporate suits.
They can't look at 30 seconds of gameplay and see it's **** compared to both a 15 year old game and all the competition.
They think all the game characters generally look weird. They can't see the lame and gay we can instantly.

The government grant people, well they're probably even stupider and more brainwashed than the lead devs on these projects.
They WANT to see it as grossly woke as possible. They have no idea what players like, and don't care.
Super woke projects getting money and coverage is the success to them.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

they've announced that they are raising the price of the PS5 in Japan, which is unheard of as far as I know. Aren't consoles meant to become cheaper as you get further and further into the generation?
Not when there's a massive, unexpected surge in Chinese and other east Asian market demand (they get them from Japan).
Black Myth Wukong may save Sony.

By all accounts, it was heavily marketed. Sony was betting big on the game.

Most of us likely haven't seen marketing for it because it was mostly focused on zoom zooms and whatever shitholes they gather at. Take note that Sony devoted at least 1/3 of their last State of Play to this turd, had a 7-minute long CGI trailer made for it, paid Amazon for a full-length episode to be featured on the anthology show they're making, and had a pipeline ready to deliver more CGI episodes every week for the characters.

Isn't China a predominantly PC market though?

I hope that Asian gamers instead purchase a PC instead of a PS5 to play Wukong. Sony as it is now doesn't deserves to be saved if you ask me.

Yea I'm pretty sure they're cutting their losses before it gets worse. Refund the 10 players that bought it or spend a bunch on maintaining servers for those 10 players and paying devs to make updates for those 10 players.

Yes. But it's Sony. They're kind of ********.

Anyway, I head demand surged there massively outstripping manufacturing goals and Sony is scrambling to ramp up production for sale to China and other places outside of Japan.

They're actively losing money on the sales. Valve isn't going to be giving Sony back the 30% cut they took.

I wonder how long it will take Sony to start with the layoffs. They bought the studio for $200 million, it employs 150 ***** last I heard, and have so far delivered the most expensive blunder in gaming history.

I bet that even if Wukong does end up saving Sony, the freaks who run Sony will learn absolutely nothing and will try again with another Concord in the future expecting a different outcome.

Yikes I never knew that. Just looked up the dev studio and I can't see that they've made anything. Why the **** would Sony pay $200 million for them?

Apparently Bungie, the same Bungie they paid $3.6 billion to purchase, told them to do it.

Their "sales" on steam comprise like $30k of revenue so valve is keeping less than $10k. Quite the unconventional strategy to mitigate losses and a rare silver lining for the Concord team in these dark times--make a game so detestable that there are barely any buyers to refund when it fails.

It's likely not much better on the PS5. I find it difficult to believe the game sold the purported 25,000 copies Sony claims, when the easiest achievement on PSN has only 1200 people getting it. Either 23,000 people bought the game and didn't even bother booting it up, somehow failed to kill a single other player in all this time, or Sony is lying to save face.

It's not 'sold'. It's 'installed', imho. They just played with words. Which means they probably counted physical stores having an installed copy for people to try and all those they sent to family, friends and jewtube shills.

I'd reckon the actually sold half as much.

It means they count Gamepass and similar things.

I've seen the $200 Million figure being passed around a lot, and if that is indeed how much it cost to 'make', imagine the marketing cost.

The estimates are about 300 Million including the cost of buying the studio.

I'll like to remind people reading this thread that many of these games were greenlit between 2016-2020. This was at the height of Trump Derangement Syndrome, LGBTQ+ activism, #MeToo, and ESG initiatives. We are now seeing the bitter fruits of their harvest. I expect billions if not trillions to be lost over this with many more layoffs and studio shutdowns. All I can say is that it couldn't have happen to more deserving people.

Vara compiled a list of cringe activists that supported the game. It's not exactly a must-see video, unless you don't know who the usual suspects are.

(reminder for everyone here: I am blocked by Jason Schreier because I defended MCA; and Alyssa Mercante is comparing things to her period - so, yeah, people are getting pretty screetchy)

And that's it for me.

The video is not for you, jackass. I made sure I disclaimed that. If you know what's going on, then the video is superfluous to you.

But thanks for the feedback.

You know after the MeToo movement you would think people would be more weary to just listen and believe all women. But then again as with most things in life I’m constantly disappointed in the human race.
