That immediately seems like a hard pass. Concept seems interesting but the gameplay I saw so far did not make it seem like it was what the devs were going for

People are looking too deep into what is going to be a crappy web-based educational game with the contract awarded to someone's friend.

If you think I'm coping or something, I can just point to the ones that exist — which nobody has ever heard of or 'played' — as proof.

What is Harmony Square?
Harmony Square is a game about fake news. The game’s setting is the idyllic Harmony Square, a small neighborhood mildly obsessed with democracy. You, the player, are hired as Chief Disinformation Officer. Over the course of 4 short levels, your job is to disturb the square’s peace and quiet by fomenting internal divisions and pitting its residents against each other.
Development and funding

The U.S. Department of State’s Global Engagement Center (GEC) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have, in collaboration with Tilt and the University of Cambridge, financially supported the development and tailoring of Harmony Square within the scope of addressing foreign adversarial propaganda and disinformation and its impact on foreign audiences and elections overseas. The GEC seeks to “facilitate the use of a wide range of technologies and techniques by sharing expertise among federal department and agencies, seeking expertise from external sources and implementing best practices” in order to “recognize, understand, expose, and counter foreign state and foreign non-state propaganda and disinformation” (NDAA section 1287).

In support of this mission, the GEC’s Technology Engagement Team collaborated in tailoring Harmony Square to address the challenges of foreign adversarial propaganda and disinformation that could impact foreign elections. Harmony Square is an example of how the GEC’s programmatic initiatives – the Tech Demo Series and the Testbed – assist in identifying and testing tools to facilitate unique technological approaches to countering propaganda and disinformation.

CISA works with partners to defend against today’s threats and collaborate to build more secure and resilient infrastructure for the future.

This game was designed and developed by Gusmanson, a design studio creating serious games.
Gusmanson is a netherlands studio, almost certainly the same exact studio receiving the contract.

I see, thanks for the clarification.

And I also want to say that I'm weirded out by the fact that in these government-funded "educational" games, you - the player - for some reason is the one spreading division and misinformation rather than being the one to stand against it.

Not very subtle there if you ask me. lol

? Wasn't aware another Dying Light game was announced

Wow, I am genuinely intrigued. Cautious, but intrigued.
Dying Light 2 was ****, as was the Dead Island 2. Dying Light 1 was fun because you could spend hundreds of hours just bashing zombies who would ragdoll hilariously. DL2 removed the ragdoll physics and reworked the levelling system to be worse. Plus, the factions **** is really weak and boring.
Dead Island 2 could not even manage to be half as fun as Dying Light 2 and it was full of insufferable faggoty writing. The only good thing it had was the zombie dismemberment system. It was only visual, but it was fairly impressive.
I really hope they don't screw it up. They most likely will, sadly, but for now I actually have a game I'm looking forward to playing.

How might RPG games benefit from having many narrow classes rather than general classes?

I know this is more a tabletop consideration, but in 3.PF, specialist casters tended to be much better balanced against mundanes than generalists, and they were always much more interesting thematically than the do-everything casters. In video games, the larger the expected party size, the more sense it makes to have narrow classes, I think.

So much was lost in Dying Light 2. Don’t know why they took away guns in the sequel although you can get a crossbow that is massively OP and completely breaks the game.

So, apparently, Sony is claiming that Concord sold cca. 25,000 copies - 10,000 on PC and 15,000 on Playstation.

Considering there less than 700 people were playing the game on launch day on Steam, and the fact only cca. 1200 people earned the easiest achievement on Playstation, I call ********.

The game might very well have sold a maximum of 2000 to 3000 copies, which is beyond disastrous.

Glen Schofield seems to have aged 25 years. The failure of Callisto Protocol destroyed him. Jittery, stammering, slurring speech. Should have moved out of gamedev on a high in the late 2010s, when he was still the good guy Dead Space creator screwed over by the empty suits in the eyes of the public.

Real shame how Callisto Protocol turned it, had such high hopes for the game.
