I was just checking up on Auto Fire to see if there is some news, and apparently there is a version available on itch.io. Its probably not worked on anymore though.

There's a new Ringlorn Saga game that came out about a week ago:

He also has a newish Wizardry-like microgame that released a few months ago and a new remaster of Demon Lord coming out soon.

I respect his work, but hate his aesthetic choices in graphics.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

The same goes for other licenses—there are tons of juicy licenses to tap into and make money from, but I guess it's simply too hard for new studios to create RPGs because they lack the necessary skills. You need a great storyteller first and foremost, along with competent technicians, to make it happen.

Warhammer was much more gritty & darker, Warcraft has always been heroic high fantasy.

PSA (food for thought for your next RPG session):

1.) Dwarfs, elfs, gnomes etc. are all demonic and not at all like the mostly virtuous bunch portrayed in LOTR when you read read up on the folklore, look at archeological finds mentioning them and so on. They have much, much more in common with the enemy they are fighting in those books...

2.) There are no good spell casters, wizards, sorcerors, etc. in history. Not a single one.

Elisha's cursed and summoned 2 bears out of the woods to maul 42 rude boys

The prophets and the apostles healed people and performed miracles (albeit because of God's authority)

Miracles are a distinct category from spells and sorcery.

What we can infer from Anglo-Saxon, elves were most likely benevolent despite having very little knowledge about them preserved. How so? Many names have 'Elf' in them, as an example, just a few that survived into modern English: Ælfred(Alfred) — Elf Counsel, Ælfric(Alfric) — Elf Ruler, Ælfwine(Alvin) — Elf Friend, etc.,

Look up the old folklore about elves kidnapping people or replacing children with changlings and then compare that to modern stories about aliens...

They are certainly not the good guys from the Christian perspective, which of course is the correct one. While you do have a point most of the accounts I've read tell about the danger of consorting with them. You might recieve some boon, but you stand a good chance of losing your soul / health / life etc. in the process. Not very nice and certainly alike the ways of demons (and aliens).

As I happen to be studying Old English in my spare time, I'm going to disagree. Sarah & Judith were referred to as ælfscyne in Christian poems. This is from the Anglo-Saxon Genesis poems:
on þinne wlite wlitan wlance monige,
þonne æðelinga eorlas wenað,
mæg ælfscieno, þæt þu min sie
beorht gebedda, þe wile beorna sum
him geagnian. Ic me onegan mæg
translation:
Because many proud Egyptian men may look upon your looks
with their eyes, and then these noble earls will suppose you,
my elf-shining woman, to be the bright companion of my bed,
that some warrior will wish to acquire you for himself.
to Sarran sinces brytta:
"Ne þearf ðe on edwit Abraham settan,
ðin freadrihten, þæt þu flettpaðas,
mæg ælfscieno, mine træde,
ac him hygeteonan hwitan seolfre
deope bete. Ne ceara incit duguða
of ðisse eðyltyrf ellor secan,
translation:
Then the dispenser of treasures spoke another word at once
to Sarah: “There is no need for Abraham, your lord, to set
any reproach upon you, that you walked upon the floors of my house,
elf-bright woman, but I deeply compensate his heart’s injury
with shining silver. Do not trouble yourselves to go seeking prosperity
elsewhere from this land’s soil, or friends unknown, but dwell here.”

At the top of dwarven society is the Queen, or Dvala, as she is called among the dwarves. She is the only female dwarf in a mine and her task is mainly to give birth to more dwarves. The birthing of new dwarf workers occupies almost all of her time and thus the actual ruling of the mine is done by a council of elders, which consists of the oldest dwarves and the oldest Rune Smith.

Hope you like juggling racial, inherent, untyped, alchemical, profane, sacred, morale, enhancement, size, polymorph, and meal bonuses to attributes
That's what made DDO itemization good tho
Yep, and much easier for them to balance to be honest. If you consider that each is a layer they budget for power scale, they can manage power increase while also giving a very detailed and vast means for character customization that is useful at all levels.

I'm wondering if this is another case like elohim in which the word just means something general like 'spirit'.

It means exactly what it says on the tin: elf.
ælfscieno(ælfsciene) means as beautiful as an elf. Ælfgifu(elf-gift) was a very common name for females: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ælfgifu
