Can I just say one thing to drown out the bitching? With Black Myth: Wukong, Baldur's Gate 3 and Hogwarts Legacy success mixed with the abysmal failure of Suicide Squad, Concord and Hyenas I think it is safe to say which way the gaming market is going. Gamers want to play single player games that have high production values. They don't want to play or waste money on always online, competitive, multiplayer, looter shooter games anymore. The fact that companies like WB and EA refuse to acknowledge the direction the gaming market is going and still hold on to the belief that games like Fortnite are still the way of the future is just too ******* funny. I will be curious to see if these companies adapt and go to making more single player games or continue to cling to their belief with competitive multiplayer games.

It's never a good idea to pursue the avenue of "what the gamers want". Many people keep wanting to find a trend. Or a pattern. I would disagree with that kind of thinking. I would encourage another.

Think of gaming as a tree with many branches. Catering to a branch will make you revenue. If the branch has too many games, it'll grow heavy and collapse. While one with fewer games will be sprite and ready to bloom when catered to.

In conclusion, if you do happen to get the funds you need to make a game, the real questions are this: Is it your passion? And: Is it a type of game everyone is making?

If the game that you make is not a game that you'd want to play, then why are you even there? :Inspector:

The problem is that the industry is probably going to go back to single player games and over saturate the market once again. Concord comes out tomorrow I believe and that game, I think, is going to spell the end of live service, competitive multiplayer. Sony wasted 200-400 million dollars on that game. They are going to lose money and a lot of it. Meanwhile, single player games like Wukong, Baldur's Gate and Hogwarts made bank and all the suits are going to care about is:
1. Will it make money.
and
2. Doesn't cost a lot of money to make.

At the end of the day greed wins out in the end. For better or worse.

Counterpoint: the best selling games are something like FIFA and Call of Duty, so developers should make a new ****-bot team based multiplayer shooter every year with teams of operators you have to gamble for in crates and the better operators dominate the game and sell for hundreds of dollars on the secondary market.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.

PS5 version barely sold any copies. Estimated ~8.5 million were sold on Steam. This lines up about with the number of concurrent players on Steam minus their concurrent count.

Not sure why this is even a discussion, but yes, 92-93% of Steam copies are being sold to Chinese

Even in the scenario where those freaks are correct that the "crowd who doesn't likes diversity are the evil ones", then that will simply mean that the ones who decide which games are successful and which ones flop are us the "evil ones". lol

Anyone looking at that article seriously will simply reach the conclusion that the "wrong type of fans" are the ones that should be catered to. Simple as.

Apparently *some* people tried to review-bomb the game.

It's actually hilarious how salty these dipshits are about something so insignificant. LMAO

hqchinks about to cope and seethe really hard

tl;dw: astro-turfed slightly-above-mediocre ***** game
when syntheticman tried to stream it, his stream immediately attracted hundreds of ***** shills who spammed his chat anytime he complained about anything

also features a ***** rescuing an injured fox, syntheticman thinks it's relatable to save an animal and unchinklike, then the fox turns into a woman and they have children together then one of the children murders and eats his family, then the ***** wakes up and realizes it was all just a dream so he kills and skins the fox like any ***** would

Even if the 90% of sales were Chinese players, that still leaves a whopping 1M of non-Chinese buying the game.

]Synthetic "based" man serving yet another decent take in a platform filled with *******. I'm surprised that his channel hasn't been shadowbanned or just straight up purged entirely.
