Tbh, the stuff I most look forward are:
1) Less to no *******
2) Less to no *******, ****** and drag queens
3) Companions of each race with AI voices
4) Overhauls of Act 2 and 3
5) Restoring the content that the larian **** removed or didn't put in
While I'm no modder myself, I have to caution people to lower their expectations.
From what Larian have said, the modding tools are very, very limited. Going by their description, they're even more limited than what modders currently can achieve.
The Patch 7 preview doesn't give a full breakdown of the tools, but their scope seems to line up with what Vincke previously indicated. "The next patch will also begin introducing our official modding tools," the post reads, "letting you change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more to overhaul Baldur's Gate 3 into the weird nightmare realm of your dreams."
People are coping by focusing on the "and more" bit at the end, but you'd think that if the tools allowed you to do anything more ambitious, they'd mention that. People are free to correct me on this, but it seems that the tools will allow you to change visuals and publish said mods to online via Larian's curated mod portal, and not much else.
I'm not sure if it will ever be possible to introduce new or cut content into the game, or even modify current quests and maps.
Larian are making excuses why they're not including more substantial mod tools ("people didn't use them in our previous games"), and I've seen people blaming WotC for their lack, but I think it's all Larian. They're dropping BG3 like a stinking turd as fast as they possibly can.
The mod tools for DOS are a bit complicated for the laymen, but the biggest gripe I saw from people playing with them was that there was a large learning curve and a lot of the key game play aspects were hard coded so you really couldn't do anything major with some of the systems which relegated it to simply a level maker for new content.
I know that was one of the things that turned me off as I wanted to adapt it to an AD&D system and none of the core systems were able to be changed.
Are steam ******* really saying Rpghq is full of malware?
Many zoomers are technically inept to the point of thinking that torrent site mirrors are fake and exist to give you viruses and insulting people who refuse to move away from Windows 7 on the basis of them missing "crucial security updates". I'm actually surprised that there aren't more files like BARBIE_MOVIE_FULL.exe floating around online, and the only reason I can surmise for this is that too few of them can figure out piracy for it to be useful.
I expected cut content because Larian has always done it. What I didn't expect was for them to just leave the game in a half-finished state, as they've always eventually released the full game.
I'm convinced that at some point we'll get a definitive edition. Even though they've said they're moving away from this game, they're still updating it.
Next patch is supposed to be the last "Content" update. Considering how WoTC handled BG3 success, I doubt Larian will have anything to do with them in the future. Thus, if anyone fixes the game, it will be a different developer (a boon, I guess)...or modders a decade from now.
this is the woman who rewrote both main stories of the game and wrote most of the romance btw
they hired a tumblr fanfiction writing shipper.
Funny that in places in the game he's described as "handsome" and "young":
However apparently the writer of that bit, hadn't seen the concept art.
So it seems that two distinct teams of writers, artists and concept artists were so completely disjointed that they didn't know whether he was going to be "handsome and young", 40 or 80.
Don't know what they were thinking hiring a fanfic writer like that, surely a game company like Larian could have afforded better?

And this is why EA version of BG3 is way diffrent, i guess.

There was a huge rewrite of the game during EA. Original BG3 script was written by DOS2 team with Sarah Baylus as lead, then something happened and they hired an entirely new writing team of american hacks with zero experience, demoted the old team and put total nobodies with no credit to their name like Adam Smith and Crystal Ding in charge of the writing. Very, very bizarre, but I suspect the game was in deep **** and they had to shake things up to salvage it.

Can't get out of my head that the woman responsible to this **** is named Welch. As a non-native English speaker, thinking of what she did and associate it with her name, it makes it sounds like a "vomit sound" in my head instead of a word. Quite arpopos.

imagine actually believing these stories
if you're a woman you can just call the cops and have a man removed from the house he legally owns based on your words alone lmao

Being a girl's first time is so important
in this case it was being the first RPG experience

Every relationship a woman isn't 110% satisfied with is "abusive". I wish someone would actually abuse these stupid *****.
Soz for not putting this in the woman hating thread but whatevs.
The original ones of this all said "her", as if men can't, and aren't subjected to the exact same.
Like "giving her an allowance", isn't that the norm in Japan, but for men?
