the world is indeed full of *******

All the arrows pointing off to nothing are accurate as well since half the game was cut so Swen could kick it out the door.
They were 100% gonna make BG1-esque game where "Act 1" was the first area of many.. then quickly ran out of gas and turned it into a 3 chapter game and abandoned it.
Gay costume?
It's pretty obvious they just ignored the majority of their feedback because it was from White guys.
I had no clue about this. So happy they changed it he looks dreadful there.

the same gender amorphous blob they hired to do the romance rewrote the entire main story(both of them)BLofbr wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 20:03i found some stuff that the Emperor was added 8 months before release, or some ****
So they rewrote the hole ******* story 1 year before release.
To be fair that's one of the default faces, and nearly all the male tiefling faces are ugly as sin, with a couple being barely average at best. I remember it was one of the most cited complaints in EA when specifically talking about how limited character creation was* and possibly in response, Larian gave male tiefling players a whopping one additional face. That face turned out to be another eyesore (if a face requires a beard to be tolerable to look at, it is not a good face).Vergil wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 19:38I had no clue about this. Does he mean the purple black apparel he is sporting now? Neither of his clothes look gay tho?
Very commendable that you sift through all this.
Belt slots are where you draw the link?
No. I just wanted to say it again. My reply to his next post will include something about his message and the text "Larian is such a **** developer" kinda like a signature.
Proof? Not sure I've seen any evidence of this, and I've seen a lot of BG3 screenshots on the HQ.Envergence wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 20:28These coom-brained devs bend over backwards for their hot chicks,
I largely agree, but the fact still remains that they scrapped 80-90% of the original story in favor of the half-assed final product (likely to appease that extreme minority). They did such a poor job replacing the original story that scraps of it remain in the dialogue and the side stories that don't actually go anywhere. It turns out, it's really hard to replace the very foundation of your game without leaving behind obvious traces of it.KOS-MOS wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 21:56The issue isn't that they cut contentβthat's normal and unavoidable. But the real problem is that they focused on entirely optional features that only interest a very, very small handful of players (based on the stats they shared on their Twitter). Their sense of priorities is really questionable.
To be honest, I never follow Early dev/writing because it always leads to disappointment. I prefer to see the final product and leave it at that, because any content that is cut is never, or very rarely, reintegrated.Envergence wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 22:04I largely agree, but the fact still remains that they scrapped 80-90% of the original story in favor of the half-assed final product (likely to appease that extreme minority). I'm convinced that at some point we'll get a definitive edition. Even though they've said they're moving away from this game, they're still updating it.rusty_shackleford wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 22:06I expected cut content because Larian has always done it. What I didn't expect was for them to just leave the game in a half-finished state, as they've always eventually released the full game.
Replace Shart with Minthara and I agree.KOS-MOS wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 22:13Apart from Astarion, Shadowheart and Lae'zel all the other characters are bland and uninteresting, they have the writing level of an npc.
And even those three are far from perfect.
It's just my own speculation from what I've seen in their games. It truly appears that they go out of their way to make most of the female characters super fuckable, while most of the men are either ugly or average-looking at best (character models and faces; DOS1 through BG3). Smacks of coomer-brain to me, but again it's just my perception. One immediate example in BG3 I can think of is how male Githyanki sport the lore-friendly Auschwitz bodies, while the females are curiously filled out by comparison. They should have skeletal bodies too, yet they don't. They may have figured Lae'zel wouldn't be fuckable if she looked like an anorexic. There's also all the ***** clothes and such, for example all the female nobles dressing like they work in a brothel, etc.WhiteShark wrote: β August 14th, 2024, 22:04Proof? There's also just them going out of their way to give Shart as much content as possible, both in the full game and through patches where she consistently takes priority over the other companions (I understand why: she's the conventionally attractive female, and gamers are simps). Ultimately, it's all circumstantial, but the pattern is impossible to ignore.
