If the Refugees would be like those that invade Europe, none of the people would even bat an eye and help the Grove kick em out or even kill em. Hell, I would tell them to relax and go drink some tea and then I would say:

Did you forget the whole "rescues part of the land's spirit while you stop the shadow tainted idiots from interfering" part?

There is a reason actually lifting the **** thing is impossible if Halsin isn't there. The weird Flaming Fist guy at the Inn outright tells you that it's impossible without him.

At least fixing the curse itself isn't tied to ******* Aylin. That would've sucked.

And about Kagha's actions: Remember that the idiotic ritual she's trying to do mostly has the purpose to isolate the grove so the shadow druids take over. She can babble about the sanctity of nature as long as she wants, the letter you find outright tells you she's a mole for a hostile takeover and plans to make herself First Druid once the rite is complete.
