a list based solely on my emotional attachment to an rpg?

1. Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
2. Might and Magic VII
3. Morrowind
4. Mass Effect trilogy
5. Baldurs Gate 2/TOB

6. South Park - The Fractured but Whole
7. Dragon Age Origins
8. Witcher 3
9. Knights of the Old Republic
10. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
I'm happy to have expansions seperately on here so could you clarify if you want 5 to be Baldur's Gate II or Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal?

Good list as well. I wasn't considering Dark Souls in the list, but if it counts I'd definitely have to throw it in mine. I've probably completed it more than any other game I've played.
I already added it in for someone else so let me know if you make any changes.

Many games are identifying as an RPG without actually being one, Dark Souls is one of them.
Dark Souls is more of an RPG than Gothic:

So have a **** tons of tacticool games.

Its besides the point, I don't even mind Dark Souls on the list here. I am just saying that Wiki articles or Steam description as a benchmark to declare a game an RPG only leads to 100 games long GOTY lists like at the Codex, with a certain winner objectively not even being an RPG.

1: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
2: Fallout: New Vegas
3: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
4: Deus Ex Human Revolution
5: Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines

This list is liable to change bi-hourly btw
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

I'd just combine both into BG2. Nobody is going to list Throne of Bhaal separately, and it can't even be played separately β€” it requires completing BG2 first.

Everyone knows the true definition of an RPG.

Whether I move the thread for it out of the RPG section or not. :smug:

These will be at the bottom as most people won't have played them lol, but they carry some of my fondest memories from going up. I never get tired of going back and playing them:

1. Xenogears (PS1)
2. Shining Force 3 (Saturn)
3. Shining The Holy Ark (Saturn)
4. Shining Wisdom (Saturn) - (Could be argued this is a zelda-style Action Adventure so swap in a runner up if need)
5. Chrono Trigger (SNES)

Runners up:
Dark Savior (Saturn)
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
Final Fantasy 7 (PS1)

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

I swapped it directly for #4 though. Will edit now and shift Chrono Trigger up and put Panzer Dragoon Saga at #5.

Morrowind is the best TES but still wasn't good enough for my top 5. Maybe if I did a top 10. I played it via OG xbox when the hardware couldn't even load everything.

I kept the list to games I actually played when I still cared about this ****. I'm not a conosewer or a poser, I've played a lot of games, but the ones I picked were the ones I enjoyed so much I beat, cared to learn about, and actually go back to sometimes, not to just cross off a list.

Technically Titan Outpost won, then felipepoopoo massaged the data to get the result he wanted. Then he admitted to throwing out all no confidence votes that just gave disco communism a 1/4

JRPGs are the only games they are somewhat filtering out, with few exceptions. Otherwise, they would have another few hundred games or so to vote on. Even they realized that would be ********.

A Legionary's Life isn't a rpg. Stygian was an incomplete jumblefuck. Amberland is lower than Operencia? The Outer Worlds? Dogshit taste, 2019 must have sucked, or cuckdex is just a sewer.

To anyone that played those RPGs that year Titan Outpost won.

And by the by to anyone interested: Titan Outpost is one of the better Asimovian RPGs out there.

Dragon Age: Origins is probably the biggest jump at 2nd at the moment instead of 43rd like in the 2019 codex list. Noticed that it is almost-all loved by newfags who were brought here by the game-mods.

It's an all-around decent game without many β€” if any real β€” flaws, not surprised if a lot of younger people have played it and enjoyed it. Not something I'd consider the best, but definitely nowhere near the bottom of the RPGs I've played.
