Fair, this is true. The french mythos existed apart from the contemporary remnants of celtic culture, making it foreign.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 18:48The french interpretation is a reinterpretation through a foreign lens, not a natural evolution of the mythos.

Legends of the Round Table - Card-based RPG
Another game that would be improved by:
a) the devs understanding of the difference between foreground and background
b) using AI art

I believe this is done purposefully as it's supposed to evoke pre-perspective style drawing.J1M wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 21:13a) the devs understanding of the difference between foreground and background

The first complain I could understand, but AI art is so utterly soulless, nonsensical and stereotypical that it's borderline unusable outside ****** mobile games. Everything it shits out is pseudo-realistic MMO crap.
This post, despite its content, is supposed to make Quebec look bad.KnightoftheWind wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 17:43Quebeckers don't see themselves as "Canadian" though. They remain in the country because of the free gibs and because their own are in power (i.e Justin Trudeau). Quebec almost exclusively votes for the Bloc party as well, a party made by Quebeckers and who are in it to serve Quebec only. They get preferential treatment constantly, at the expense of every other province (literally and figuratively). They even get less immigrants coming in, because they want to protect the Fr*nch language.1998 wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 17:34"French" aka CanadianTheFumblingKnight wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 17:15
Fair. Sadly the devs are french so I'm not sure if they would listen.
Yes, that is exactly the flaw. They didn't understand the backgrounds needed to be more pastel to make the game playable. They failed to translate the art style to a game.Acrux wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 21:18I believe this is done purposefully as it's supposed to evoke pre-perspective style drawing.J1M wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 21:13a) the devs understanding of the difference between foreground and background
AI can draw any style it is trained on. Try changing your prompt.TheFumblingKnight wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 21:54The first complain I could understand, but AI art is so utterly soulless, nonsensical and stereotypical that it's borderline unusable outside ****** mobile games. And it falls apart in the details and trying to avoid anachronisms. The style the game is aiming for (13th century parade armor) can't be handled by AI without tard wrangling it to the extreme, and yet still it's likely to have a less iconic/attractive style than what an artist can do.J1M wrote: ↑ July 27th, 2024, 14:22AI can draw any style it is trained on. Fully honest: I am not. I just like the concept of the game a lot (obligatory pozzshit aside), and having an unhealthy obsession with medieval history makes me agressive on certain issues, one of them being using AI-art when I know for experience it can't draw historical armor without extreme wrangling.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ July 27th, 2024, 15:57@TheFumblingKnight you can be honest, are you one of the developers?

Their latest blog is about their Great Battles, some sort of Owlcat-like larger scale, strategic battle system. Sure hope its better though.
The Great Battles
Knights of the Round Table, it’s time to raise your swords and prepare your troops for the epic conflicts you will experience in Legends of the Round Table!
Today, we’re introducing you to the Great Battles system, a key element of the game that will place you at the head of bloody confrontations to determine the fate of the kingdom.

Work in progress screenshot of two armies facing off in a Great Battle in Legends of the Round Table
Great Battles occur during 4 decisive moments of Arthur's reign. Imagine hundreds, even thousands of soldiers clashing on the battlefield: pikemen, archers, and of course, your knights. But beware, your enemies won’t be ordinary. You might face enraged berserkers, Saxon witches, or even war elephants!
These battles are divided into assaults, determined by the number of troops involved. Two game states alternate during the battle:
The general state, where you manage your divisions—each ideally led by a lieutenant, one of your knights—and organize your troops. Then, the scenario presents you with a specific enemy division to oppose one of yours. At this moment, a strategy challenge comes into play, allowing you to gain an advantage, whether through a tactical initiative or by reacting to an unexpected event (rain, enemy maneuver, etc.).
The turn-based combat state, similar to the battles you experience during the classic adventures.

The decisionmaking doesn't end there! Before swords even clash, there’s a phase of diplomacy or battle preparation. Will you send an envoy to prevent enemy reinforcements from arriving? Or will you dispatch one of your lieutenants to aid Breton allies who could turn the tide of the battle?
If the battle swings in your favor, your victories could lead to looting enemy camps for opulence or even magical items! But be warned, if everything falls apart, King Arthur himself may have to fight for his life. A defeat at this stage could lead to his death... and the end of the game.

This newsletter offers a glimpse into the Great Battles system, but it’s only an introduction. Many other aspects await you in the game for a deeper and more strategic experience. Stay tuned for more details!
See you on the battlefield!

I thought the alternative game awards were just a meme, but this game is somehow featured there starting in 25min. Lets just create game awards until every single game gets featured.

Narrated by a woman, "their king and queen", "strength came from love, not hate".
Yeah, I'm gonna pass. More liberal outlooks on the past, as if we need more of that.
Given that this game is meant to be an Arthurian Chivalric Romance: Videogame edition, that phrase is actually appropriate.ThulsaDoomer wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 19:24Narrated by a woman, "their king and queen", "strength came from love, not hate".

Isn't the french version highly romantic and very keen on honor? I don't know much about it though but would love to read the books

And so on, the overwhelming majority of patrons for the matter of britain were FOIDS.In the latter half of the twelfth century, the troubadour Chrétien de Troyes and his contemporaries, working amongst others under the patronage of Edward’s great-grandmother, Eleanor of Aquitaine, conjured stories from the pseudo histories and chronicler traditions of England. In doing so, they added new characters unknown in the earliest Welsh legends, while imposing new structures and conventions which allowed these stories to reflect and expound upon elements of their patron’s aristocratic and chivalric culture.

I played the demo and haven't seen any ******* be it in your party, as enemies or in the background. But that could be deception as devs love to put the pozz but not on the surface level.

Played through the demo. Pretty easy to just stunlock enemies to death. Honor is cringe and I immediately tanked Kay's honor and gave him the demon sword, which automatically gives you 0 honor.
Merlin made one of my knights kill a bunch of 1 year olds. LOL
Stops right at the start of the first quest you get after you establish the round table, left me wanting more.
If the full game is as good, then I see this being a solid 7/10 with nice visuals.

Nobody played it? I finished it...and..yeah. Garbage combat, but it's ok for a few hours.
