What does having friends on Steam do? What does it make available?

people on this forum not adding me as a steam friend despite putting my friend code in my signature is very disappointing
To be fair it's a bit presumptive to add someone as a friend when they probably don't like you.
why does everyone think I don't like them?

You claim that the law of the land is the basis of the rule set here. Would you allow any videos, gifs, images etc. of things that are publicly posted and legal under US law that could be found on any mainstream legal pornography site to be posted?
I just don't like you. If you have a problem, report it, otherwise I'd prefer not to interact with you.

One time I almost played a game with Rusty but he was too shy to use voice chat so he left. All invites since have been declined.

It was sarcasm. :D
As to Steam friends, easy to see when people are online, instant chat, see what games they're playing and join it (and invite others to the same game with a click).

The tone in most of @loregamer's videos was the old Steam message received sound, for a long time.

Yeah, if @orinEsque can learn to do what she did with modern primitive voice AI in a few months, in 10 years human actors will just be an annoying waste of time to directors.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

What I did was Speech to Speech. You very much need a voice actor for that. But if text to speech AI like Eleven labs becomes really good in 10 years, yeah voice actors might lose their jobs. At most people with nice voices and no acting skills will be asked to come in and record lines for training AI models.

Some voice actors with good voices will probably end up making more with less work just by licensing their voices. Off the top of my head, the Jensen guy and the Geralt guy, obviously. Anyone who can do a wide range of good voices would probably make a lot of money by virtue of simply charging less than paying for multiple voices and getting a lot of customers. Anyone who can do official sounding voiceover work.
It's also already good enough to replace voice actors for anything but big budget games where minor mistakes wouldn't be accepted.

Speech to speech is VERY good with accents BUT you have to be able to act out the accent :(. Text to AI is pretty bad with accent it unless the model was very specifically trained to have an accent. Overall, worst is sound effects. Laughing, crying, sobbing etc, screaming... just bad.

No need for a singing AI as long as we got those prime pieces:
