I played trough the release version of the game like 4 times, there is zero "***** stuff".
Even that portrait in the first level everyone were talking about was changed, it now looks completely normal.

Even without all that ***** stuff everything about it looks at best painfully average. Doubt I'll even try it at some point.

Anyway, no idea why but I've been playing about 4 mmos at the same time (Some more, some less) SWTOR,WOW,DDO and FFXIV. Of those, I'm more active in xiv and swtor since wow gets it's addon in a month or so and DDO just lags too hard for me since i'm a yurofag.

It is a good game, the weapons balance all over the place but it's still not a full release, plus you won't be really able to tell that until first few full playtroughs.

Currently playing Quasimorph after putting it on hold for a while. i stumbled into the game a few years back when i was looking for roguelikes to play, but saw that the overall rating on the game was mixed. recently it had a big content update and reception towards the game seems to have been better over all.

the game plays similarly like DoomRL or its successor, Jupiter Hell. Basic Premise of the game is that you're a PMC Corporation that runs jobs around the planetary system by other big corpos.
I'm not too far into the game my self but the game offers a wide variety of guns, melee weapons, grenades, and gadgets. There's also the name of the game it self, quasimorph(osis) in which like a disease you have where the more infected you are to the disease, you can open up rifts/portals for demons to enter from.

Movement mechanic is interesting, you have 3 movemennt choices:
1. Stealth : you move only 1 time a turn but you can detect enemies nearby.
2. Normal : You can move 2 times a turn, you can also move once and shoot (you basically get 2 action points in a single turn, use it however you will)
3. Run : you can move 3 action points to spend but you cannot access your inventory,

There are a few types of missions you can get in the game which are nice to mix things up in a while. You can also trade items with colonies/cities in each planet. the economy works on a barter system so you don't really get money. you just give the item they needd and they will trade you a few items for it (guns, meds, food, etc.)

TLDR : its a fun game.
Have you played it at all recently?
Not as of late, why ?

I love freedom force, a bit hard to play these days but great fun nevertheless. One of the earliest games I can remember letting you fully customize characters.

If they ever remaster this game it will be one of the wokest trash fires to be created, so no.
I hope it never gets remastered.

Plus it has modding support so you can just make a new freedom force game yourself.

The game is also pretty easy by today's standards of RPG, atleast for the HQ crowd

The character creator is ace, though. Even better than City of Heroes did it (yeah, trash superhero MMO, but whatever... you get what you can get)

Just replayed Cyberpunk 2077 with the DLC and the 2.12 patch.
They completely reworked a ton of systems, from leveling your character to how equipment and armor works. It's impressive the amount of work they put into it.
It's a shame the story is so ****. You're just a cancer patient with Keanu as an aggressive insufferable tumor.
The DLC is even worse. You thought playing second fiddle to Johnny was fun? Well, how about a ***** hacker **** that is also an all-powerful cyber demon? She betrays you twice and constantly lies to you, but the one time you decide to stop her insanity, she chimps out and screeches at you for betraying her.
Oh, and the entire story revolves around her and Idris Elba's relationship. There's a part of the last mission where you're just stuck in a room having to watch all the flashbacks of them together. And the mission itself is an Alien: Isolation rip-off.

I sunk nearly a hundred hours into it by doing all the side-quests and ****, and I had plenty of those left over. But the DLC was so revolting that I just dropped everything, finished the game and deleted it.
2020 version was awful, both technically and story-wise. 2024 version is okay technically and mechanically, but the story is just as bad if not worse.
Do not recommend.

Hey, that was my first exposure to the Dark Phoenix storyline. I liked all the cartoon backstories, like with the Tombstone or the Bullet or the Quetzalcoatl.

somehow "people" on the internet praised this game for its story and "choices". They probably never played a single RPG in their entire life.

why do you say this?
Is it because they changed the way energy was used?

That's the big one, yes. You had a lot more granularity before, and now you just had like 4 points, so nothing could be less than 25%.

it was actually 3 points, and I think they did this for balance because you could do some extremely game breaking things with the previous energy system.
You can still create a broken character that uses no energy except area and special attacks, which is stupid because you could make area attacks and specials cost nothing in the previous game, and it made no sense to limit you on this in the new game.
Other than that, the character creator never changed.

Right, my point being the lack of granularity. It being worse than I remember changes nothing.

That's the thing: Because the two games were otherwise pretty much the same, that's the only noteworthy change and it was one for the worse.
