Maybe I'd have agreed a few years ago. Nowadays, I just don't want any ******* in my entertainment at all.

The mere sight of them disgusts me.

The fatigue is real.

However, even you must admit that in games like The Elder Scrolls, them not talking or acting like nogs makes them almost a different species.
It's a relief to see a black person not act like a ******. Because so many do, eagerly it seems.

We'll never get characters like Cyrus, because not only are gamedevs fetishists, they can't write masculine heroes of any kind.

Given the game originally came out in 2007 and Valve hasn't said anything to the contrary since then, this is probably true.

I'd say our cynical view of things is quite warranted nowadays. I've seen plenty examples of seemingly innocuous things that are retroactively changed to pander to the LGBTQ+ community due to pressure from those people online.

These people are also quick to declare any character that looks even remotely ambiguous as "non-binary" and automatically refer to such characters using they/them pronouns. From what I've seen, most developers simply go along with it because it seems (to them) culturally, socially, and economically expedient to bend the knee.

At least, those developers that aren't crazed leftists designing these things to be this way intentionally (there are many of them too of course).

I'd say our cynical view of things is quite warranted nowadays.

They are of course, troonism & DEI is 5th generation asymmetric warfare against our supply lines.
However, wars are won by logistics. Fighting any little skirmish along front lines in tertiary theaters is a strategical blunder that is bound to distract & avert and ultimately tire out before hot engagement has even begun. And precisely that is factored into the plans of the adversary already.
It is critical to understand that we are at a huge strategical disadvantage at the current state of the war. We have neither the troops nor the supplies to enact an assault along the entire front line.

Instead, in order to achieve operational dominance we must establish a schwerpunkt along critical infrastructure of the enemy from which we can effectively pivot into offensive operations.
The fulcrum is not the internet and certainly not computer games, as much as I understand that many like to believe they are, but [TOP SECRET]. A thrust along this axis penetrating enemy lines would immediately disrupt the adversary's command and control over our supply lines and cause a cascading effect of disarray.

By maintaining operational momentum we would be able to facilitate rapid exploitation of the breach achieving breakthrough, ultimately enveloping enemy forces and securing our most important strategic objectives for the moment.

Is there a curated list like this just like @Furin did, but instead of video games, it's for book authors, directors, actors, etc.?

I'm of the same mind on this, and would like to expand my list on who should I avoid giving my money to, and who should I support instead.

I know OneAngryGamer had something similar to this before it went down, and TRPGS still maintains their list for woke TTRPG companies here, so any additional info like this is much appreciated.

I'm not versed in the Curation of the list but just by glancing over the first link, there are dozens of games that even RPGHQ users play that have LGBT characters in it. You'd have to filter these by going after the most extreme games that feature any of these.

Thanks! I think these are already among my collection of reference lists.

As an example, all Steam games from the first one (and by extension the 2nd and 3rd as well) have been added as far as I remember.

It's my intention to add all the games mentioned in such lists. However, as I'm only one person and I have to validate the claims made (especially by wikipedia which has already proven itself unreliable), this will likely take a long time.
