Just played through the Jesus questline in Cyberpunk 2077. What a crock of ****. Awful on all fronts - absolutely ****** up gameplay-wise, the story set up makes no ******* sense, the religious arguments are reddit atheist tier and the whole thing feels so sacrilegious evet to me, a non-Christian.
One of the worst designed and executed quests in a game full of badly designed and executed quests.
Every single ****** developer that had a hand in this travesty must be crucified.

There's a Jesus questline?

Yes, and the introductory quest is so bad that I don't blame you for not knowing about it. It's called Sinnerman.
The jap lady fixer calls you and asks you to kill a guy, to which V can be very reluctant for some reason, even though there are dozens of wet work gigs in the game that you can do before that mission. So, you go to find the client who wants to tag along and get into the most on-rails scripted car chase in a truck that handles like soap on glass. It's comedically nonsensical, with cars trying to smash into you at literally every intersection that you drive through. The police car you're pursuing is always about 30-40 meters ahead of you, being able to do 90 degree turns at breakneck speeds and smashing through any cars that happen to spawn without ever slowing down.

Then a scripted car crash happens. You get out of the truck and the client goes to kill the target in the police car himself. The police car is guarded by a lone policeman who has three health bars and kills the client. If you try to kill the policeman before that happens, he literally stays a 1HP until he kills the client and only then does he drop dead. If you don't manage to kill him while he's not attacking you, he kills you in 2-3 shots unless you're very high level (over 50). Oh, and when you kill the policeman, entire squads of police spawn out of thin air and pile on.

AND THE WHOLE MISSION DISABLES SAVING THE GAME

So, if you die or don't want to get a particular ending of that quest, you have to do the ******* awful scripted car chase again. It's like a GTAV or RDR2 mission but even worse.
Anyways, what you're actually supposed to do to get the Jesus quest line is to let your client get killed and then get into the car with the target (who's a convicted murdered of like a dozen of people on death row) and the policeman who shot your client. But before that happens there's a ******* ton of UNSKIPPABLE dialogue (in a game where previously there's been like a line or two at most of unskippable dialogue).

Anyways, that's the ending that leads to the next two quests. The death row murderer has found Jesus and now wants to share his faith through filming his crucifixion. These two quests are literally just a visual novel. And the arguments against and pro his insane idea are all very shallow.

You escort this murderer to visit the family of a guy he killed. The sister of that killed guy wrote him letters (just like in those many, many stories about braindead white families writing to murderers of their loved ones) and invited him home. The mother is rightfully furious and unforgiving. Then you take the murderer to a pizzeria.
Then you get called to be at the filmed crucifixion. There's no way to stop it, but you can nail the murderer to the cross yourself (by his request). The whole time he's repeating Jesus' words while he was crucified.
In a game full of hopelessness and gore and awful dystopian concepts (like routinely eating bugs or always being a debtslave) this story doesn't feel profound. It feels as shallow as all the other attempts at tackling philosophical questions that have been though upon for thousands of years. And it is so because 99% of video game writers are talentless ******** hacks that couldn't make it in film or book industry.

I have a lot of problems with Cyberpunk 2077 even beyond its broken release. And yet, despite it all, I thought the game was middling at worst. But this storyline alone is making me actually despise the game instead of simply disliking it.

The writing was on the wall months ago, when they had that poor guy with the 1000-yard stare featured in the video about CDPR's new ESG initative. The dude looked like he was being shipped to a gulag.

Cyberpunk 2 is being developed by their American studio, and the devs are on record saying they want to tackle socail issues such as homelessness in the game - which just means the narrative will be even more preachy and in-your-face than the one in 2077.

For Witcher 4 they deliberately picked the Lynx school so they could allow the creation of a female or non-White PC.

CDPR has basically speedrun their way into becoming BioWare.

The left destroyed the family with diehard feminism; each day more and more women are using anti-depressives, and more men are getting destroyed due to the insane "guilty even after proven innocent" laws. Destroyed the job market with affirmative action, putting sub-80 IQ incompetent people in positions of power (South Africa went from having the cheapest and most stable electricity in the world into the world blackout champion), and now it comes to destroy escapism. I play games to escape the harsh reality created by the left. I don't want this Neo-Marxist sh*t in my games.

I already have to deal with a lot of **** in my real life; I will not pay for a game and waste my time being socially engineered into a neo-Marxist woke guy who plays Cuckold Simulator IRL. I can play older games, and if I couldn't, I would rather give my money to any random ***** than to any company that considers me an evil oppressor. Thanks to this DIE insanity in CDPR, Polish men will be discriminated against in a company created by Polish men in Poland. Such insanity has never happened historically.

Everyone endorses faggotry these days. Disappointing to see. It's one of the reasons I pirate everything except small devs I think deserve the money.

If it is a good dev, I check to see if they have their own website where they sell the game. That way nothing goes to the pedo-networks. I wish more independent devs would give that option, I will not do business with the pedo networks.

Devs get more from you buying it on steam than anywhere else. Buying on steam + positive review increases exposure which leads to more copies sold.

Steam charges nothing for the Steam keys they sell developers.
When they sell them off site, they make the most money.
Steam only takes a cut of sales directly through Steam.

Nobody was getting fired until very recently, so their jobs were never at risk no matter how poorly their propaganda — mind you, they were making it so slowly that it wasn't even releasing — sells.
