How was this? I would’ve joined you fuckers :pirate:
It was fun for a while but with only three people it devolved into scouring the land for power items/high level enchantments to compete with each other.

iirc @Oyster Sauce was talking about wanting to make another server but with some mods next time.
Kind of pointless to play these games multiplayer unless you completely overhaul the games difficulties so that mobs require multiple people to kill them.

There's been some rumblings about starting this back up again with mods so I figured I would post some mods as I find them that sound like they could be interesting.
MDMD - More Deadly Morrowind Denizens
Turns unique characters into real deal boss fights. Many artifacts around the map now have users you need to fight and they're buffed heavily. Some characters like ancient vampires are set at level 50 instead of the usual level 20 most powerful NPCs are capped at.
The Morrowind Randomizer
Will need to test the compatibility between this and the previous mod but this will solve the loot goblin faggotry by randomly scattering power items and artifacts around the map so that finding endgame balance shattering gear will be a surprise instead of relying on meta knowledge.
Beware the Sixth House (Sixth House Overhaul)
Main quest difficulty mod that the modtranny who made it says is compatible with MDMD
https://www.moddb.com/games/morrowind/a ... provements
"Makes significant changes to the game's birthsigns, races, spells, spell effects, alchemy ingredients, potions, equipment, enchantments, and GMSTs."
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

Its also completely pointless, if you're doing vanilla quests and dungeons, because everyone knows the locations of the best gear, the layout of most dungeons, the creature merchants, and how to cheese. Its only worth playing if everyone is going into a new landmass or dungeon for the first time.

The only one the mod list I posted doesn't address is the dungeon layout.

We should wait for Project Cyrodiil release this summer,
As neat as that would be I have very low trust when it comes to mod release dates.
What's the hurry?

Not enough multiplayer online RPGs, when MMOs disappeared they got replaced with action games that have RPG elements

HP would need to be tailored for all mobs to fit a groups damage range. Personally, if I were tailoring it, I would increase HPs across the board for all levels (players included) on top of group encounter HP adjustment to NPCs so that encounters last much longer and are focused more on endurance based play.

well, the over all point of playing it multiplayer would be the fights themselves. I guess you could really get into it and start tailoring the quests, item locations, etc... to different things, changing the whole game up. Maybe setting it up kind of like EQ in terms of difficulty, etc...

How does multiplayer treat death in morrowind? I wonder if you could implement a EQ like death system with CR and the like.

I'd kill for a compact EQ server tailor made for a small group of bros to play the content. Someone get on that.

You respawn at the nearest fort or temple with some random skill loss.

This mod allows you to be "downed" and revived before bleeding out like other multiplayer games. Looks a little weird to install though.

Everytime Morrowind is mentioned I nearly reinstall it.

Still haven't finished making some mods I have been working on for a while.
why would u uninstall any good game?
Because I don't have the 500 TBs necessary to install a modern game.

Those uncivilized savages are not the true masters of morrowind and exterminating them would only prove your point even in their own culture. Dagoth Ur wished to unite the land while they just want to succumb to the very kind of infighting that led to the empire taking over in the first place.

Hmm, I wonder how hard it would be to add in EQ like concepts. Like leaving a corpse, or a chest that has all your equipment on it where you died.

May be very possible to get something working like that with OpenMW.

I like the suggested selection of mods, but insist we wait for the new Cyrodiil update. Or play a big dungeon mod.

I guess I'll jump in, whatever the consensus is, in mid July. If there's anything left of your game. I thought I'd have more time but work changed.

u dont want **** united in terms of power centralisation unless your ******* leader class is transparent as glass.
optimal would be cooperative fragmentation that prevents enemy from easy take over by infiltrating centralised leadership. murica had it right before feds took too much power
