Oh I agree, BG3 is an unfinished piece of ****. Dozens of little details and places are unresolved or end abruptly, are not further expanded upon and the worst part about it is that Larian keeps gaslighting people saying "That was never going to be part of the game( even tho 2 weeks prior to the full release we talked about the missing things)" and don't get me started regarding Karlach and how the fixing of her engine is her personal quest, yet we can only do it twice even though Baldur's Gate is full of Gortash's Robots that seem to function the same way as Karlach's heart engine. Along with getting 3-4 variations of the Iron used to fix her engine. But no Larian AND Samantha Béart gaslight us saying "Nope, that doesn't exist and is just there for... we don't know tbh"BLofbr wrote: ↑ June 14th, 2024, 11:56EA vs Final build are too diffrent, in 2019-2022 they made changes that we can see that actually makes the game a 5/10 and no goty, they changed to goyslop mode, Larians team are 100% *** and shouldnt be in game business anymore. But all women are like that. There's nothing wrong with an echo chamber, as long as its an echo chamber for my side. Staying in the middle is begging for one side or the other to take over.destinyhntr wrote: ↑ May 17th, 2024, 02:02This is a good point. I felt like bringing it up since you seemed to hold the opinion that all women are like that, and since I personally hate the mentality of "all women are selfish thots" and "all men are abusive rapists", I like to point out that no, 50% of the population does not adhere to one stereotype. Though I doubt my opinions on either side will fly on here OR in the liberal reddit echo chambers.Vergil wrote: ↑ May 17th, 2024, 01:28So? Daisy - It's not a secret that Daisy was cut from the game after the last EA release and replaced with "The Guardian." Originally Daisy was representative of the tadpole in your head, not the Emperor, and would attempt to seduce your character into staying in the meadow by the river with her forever. A happy life with an imaginary dream lover while your body underwent ceramorphosis and was lost to you forever. Daisy was such an important part of the plot that both of the games theme songs "Down by The River" and "The Power" are based entirely upon Daisy. Datamined content also shows there was originally an ending where players would embrace a romance with Daisy and give themselves over to the parasite, forever leaving their individual consciousness "down by the river" with Daisy.

Baldur's Gate 3, if I will ever play it again, will be a full on murder-hobo run at this point. The game I played as an Early Access and was waiting for is gone. If there is something I disdain more than woke **** added to a ****** game is ****-tease good games that then end up woke, rushed and unfinished, but give enough hope at first so you can feel frustrated and empty inside instead of glad to have played even a second of it. Only waiting for good news on modding the **** out of this at this point.

It's actually crazy, as you progress past the shiny surface of Act 1, how dogshit the game becomes, and how quickly it becomes that.
All of the positives it has are overshadowed by gallons of dogshit, and to be honest, at least for me, Larian has lost all the goodwill they might have earned from DOS:1 & 2.
Just another dead, woke filled company like Bioware, and Bethesda.

It blows my mind that they cut all this super relevant Act 3 content and instead focused on random side quests that no one cares about. The fireworks never impacted anything and were a two-part thing. The painter's quest was long but also inconsequential. The clown mission was bland and had a horrible reward. The brothel stuff was unnecessary and I'm sure most people didn't even interact with it. The graveyard was useless. The counting house felt super short and we had a whole map we just waltz through and don't interact with. 97% of people played as Tavs so the Origin character feature was unused, which I'm sure they spent a ton of time on that would have been better spent on the main plot. I saw people say that Halsin's original storyline was about him killing Isobel 100 years ago (which the game just brushes off with "I don't know how I died"). Instead we get him being a sex pest instead of having a compelling story.
I cannot understand why they got rid of all the important stuff and focused on pointless side quests that half the players won't even interact with.

This is the funniest to me. It's mildly amusing as a gimmick but if you like a character enough to potentially play as them why would you want to not have them around as a companion so you miss out on most of their actual character and content? And playing as "Tav" makes it so apparent it was a last minute change because it's bland as ****. Dark Urge actually has a story with things to do and plot relevance.destinyhntr wrote: ↑ June 19th, 2024, 02:1697% of people played as Tavs so the Origin character feature was unused

I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
Agree for both. Playing as Origins takes away all voice lines and any distinct personalities. Plus, they didn't have enough unique stuff to make it worth it. Such a waste of time and effort that could be put into normal playthroughs. I saw some people say there should have been 3 options only: vanilla Tav (for people who want to RP), Dark Urge (which is the only way I can play because anything else feels like you're just a bystander in the game), and a Sorcerer option to replace Wyll since that would have potential to be its own unintrusive bhaalspawn-esque option with an interesting patron (or just Mizora).Vergil wrote: ↑ June 19th, 2024, 02:24This is the funniest to me. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/baldur ... t-humanityBaldur's Gate 3 once had a portable hole, but Swen Vincke says it would have been a "crime against humanity"
There’d have been even more space if one particular cosmic impossibility hadn’t been left on the cutting room floor. “There's one mechanic in particular that I'm thinking of that they brought in,” said Vincke, apparently in reference to the aforesaid scripters. “It was fantastic. It was just we couldn't make it work in all cases, so we had to remove it, but it was fantastic. And it was a portable hole, which is like a mechanic, so you could basically throw down a hole, you can throw people in it, and then you could start doing all kinds of abusive mechanics in the game.” My audio is a bit smudgy here – Vincke may have said “abusive” or “abuse of mechanics”, both of which would make sense in context.

Seriously, I've come to a point where I find myself unable to continue this game (for now, at least). Is the ending worth the effort - or will I only see more Calfornicated quasi-RPG where e.g., "the Elder Brain wasn't inherently evil - it was only a victim of circumstance and society, and actually was big supporter of Pride" or something? (yes, I am in a bad mood today; it seems several "family curses" and have caught up with me and my health is suffering for it).
I am in chapter 3, having killed Gortash but there are several side quests I haven't done in the city (above ground) yet. Since I am a completionist, I am loathe to jump straight to the ending normally - but with this game... Maybe I will. IF the effort to finish it actually is worth it.
I really liked and enjoyed this game until about the end of chapter 2 (though I thought the Ironhand gnomes a strange and gay lot in the Underdark; still wondering how these will survive, given the fact that most if not all of them are gay, which really is just utterly silly), but chapter 3 has sapped all will and determination to finish it.

From what Larian have said, the modding tools are very, very limited. Going by their description, they're even more limited than what modders currently can achieve.
People are coping by focusing on the "and more" bit at the end, but you'd think that if the tools allowed you to do anything more ambitious, they'd mention that. People are free to correct me on this, but it seems that the tools will allow you to change visuals and publish said mods to online via Larian's curated mod portal, and not much else. The Patch 7 preview doesn't give a full breakdown of the tools, but their scope seems to line up with what Vincke previously indicated. "The next patch will also begin introducing our official modding tools," the post reads, "letting you change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more to overhaul Baldur's Gate 3 into the weird nightmare realm of your dreams."
I'm not sure if it will ever be possible to introduce new or cut content into the game, or even modify current quests and maps.
Larian are making excuses why they're not including more substantial mod tools ("people didn't use them in our previous games"), and I've seen people blaming WotC for their lack, but I think it's all Larian. They're dropping BG3 like a stinking turd as fast as they possibly can.

These are one and the same. My guess is negotiations for DLC went poorly, and licensing fees were very high.gerey wrote: ↑ June 25th, 2024, 08:36and I've seen people blaming WotC for their lack, but I think it's all Larian. They're dropping BG3 like a stinking turd as fast as they possibly can.
