They didn't touch Maria since the backlash would be too strong, but with Angela they can turn the tables around by bringing up her backstory. She has an eating disorder because her own father .. did things, etc.
Quite smart of them. They managed to launder in the character redesign they wanted and did so in a way that fighting against it puts you in a bad spot.

I rarely see ugly women when I go out. Very few of them have man bodies or man jawlines. Now fat women, that's another story but I think the attractive normal women are more numerous in this area.

Letting women into this industry was a mistake.

They can be decent writers like Amy Hennig's Soul Reaver games. But should be kept the hell away from anything involving gameplay or visual elements.
