BG3 doesn't have anything remotely this corny and stale. This has the pacing and dialog of an MCU scene.

Train wreck. What a complete garbage dump.
Game is going to completely tank. After watching the trailer, I wouldn't even play it if they paid me a 1000 bucks to.

Um but it's ******* badass and quirky how they're casually having a conversation while taking down the bad guys. Simply epic. Literally.

No worries people, they have the winning formula! All they have to do is have lots of gay/*****/beast sex in it and it will sell millions of copies, just like BG3!
I am not optimistic that this game will flop. Time and time again, the Western entertainment industry perverts once beloved old names and pumps out **** with the names of those once beloved names slapped on, and time and time again people slurp them up. Look at the reaction to the new Dune movie, Pokemon, Disney Star Wars, and so on. People will buy a new Dragon Age game because the IP and the Bioware brand name has been mythologized, and also because there aren't many other high production value fantasy games to compete.

Don't go getting my hopes up like that
People still give a **** about this series after Dragon Age 2? The series was fairly self contained within origins and its dlc.

We can only hope. I remember reading that the development of the next ME game was already "guaranteed", regardless of how Dragon Age 4 fares, which might be why they don't care about trying to make DA4 appealing.Brother Chad wrote: ↑ June 9th, 2024, 19:36BioWare's goose is cooked.
Get ready for them to be shuttered immediately after this turd's launch.

I agree, but I also liked Buffy/Angel. It wasn't as bad back then.RangerBoo wrote: ↑ June 10th, 2024, 05:57Joss Whedon and the consequences of his writing have been a disaster for millennial writers.

There was something that someone said in that many millennial writers grew up watching both Buffy and Angel and now that they are writers themselves they are trying to copy Whedon's style of writing. This of course has been a disaster. These writers should focus on making their own style instead of trying to be the next Joss Whedon. Given the success of East Asian entertainment here in the West it is clear that Westerners want something new. Whedon's style of writing has now gotten stale with audiences and I think we are now seeing the death throes of this style of writing.aweigh wrote: ↑ June 10th, 2024, 05:58I agree, but I also liked Buffy/Angel. Its crazy how they shuttered visceral over comparatively nothing despite being a successful company. yet nu bioware has been flop after flop.
Dead space 2 was prophetic. The metaphorical equivalent of necromorphs and their enablers have long since taken over and destroyed western culture. Hence the popularity shift to foreign entertainment.

Yes, that is true, but it's also true that a popular IP is no guarantee for a game's success.Val the Moofia Boss wrote: ↑ June 10th, 2024, 02:52Time and time again, the Western entertainment industry perverts once beloved old names and pumps out **** with the names of those once beloved names slapped on, and time and time again people slurp them up.
DA:I was 10 years ago - there's not many people left around passionate enough to voice their like/dislike for a franchise that had one semi-decent game during a cRPG drought.
Also, Deadname is a game that is years behind the curve - whatever iteration of it we are seeing released had started development during the capeshit craze, but even normies are sick and tired of it by now.
The reception of the trailer has been overwhelmingly negative, to the point that everyone is now aware that Deadname is a valid target for ridicule. This game will not be getting any positive publicity outside of game journo circles, every trailer and expose will be met with a deluge of abuse and mockery, destroying whatever vestiges of goodwill were left.
This is the Suicide Squad of cRPGs.

Tell me, whats the point in discussing this **** game? Wasnt it obvious from the start this gonna be yet another woke fest? And yet you all are gonna discuss this on 100 pages.
You're obviously new around these parts.
But to entertain your question - discussing good games get boring, there's only so many ways we can all agree that a game is good, and we've already discussed all the good cRPGs to death by now. A bad game like Deadname, made by clowns, for clowns, is an endless source of entertainment - from finding all the awful tidbits of writing in it, to chronicling the embarrassing behavior of the developers online. It can provide us with fun for months, years even.

This has the potential to not only be "yet another woke fest", but to blow out all it's contemporary competitors (Avoid, Bloodlines 2...). I am pretty confident I get more entertaining out of this **** show, than I got from DA:IYankee Zulu wrote: ↑ June 10th, 2024, 07:46Tell me, whats the point in discussing this **** game? And like Suicide Squad I will be curious to see what the final cost for this trash heap will be. If it is anything less than 200 mil I will be shocked.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, and @Roguey probably has more exact numbers, but from what I've see BioWare has around 400 employees, while Rocksteady has around 250.
Both games have been in full-time development since 2017 (if we assume BioWare shifted the majority of their employees to Deadname after Andromeda released), and if the biggest expenditure was on wages, then Deadname was at least twice as expensive as Suicide Squad.
How EA allowed this abortion to metastasize for this long is beyond me.
cycle was like andromeda=scrap then anthem=scrap then dreadwolf=scrap, restarted at 2020 for some reason i think after biggest guys left the company
Bioware was being propped up by TOR allowing them to meet their quarterly revenue returns. EA took TOR away from them last year, it's sink or swim time.gerey wrote: ↑ June 10th, 2024, 09:31How EA allowed this abortion to metastasize for this long is beyond me.
Theres plenty of new good games upcoming or released to talk about. If you dont know they exist that doesnt mean they dont. Its pathetic really if you dont have anything better to do here than make fun of these ******** game failures.gerey wrote: ↑ June 10th, 2024, 07:47You're obviously new around these parts.
