@Rand - FYI apparently in the release notes for the deprecated patch this is one of the items:

"Made it so that spell aptitude increases both the min and max value of the damage / healing output."

Also: MISC: Removed a few unnecessary uses of the “C-word”
=== Version 1.0.4a-c ===

FEATURES: The life-length of combat pop-ups can be adjusted under Settings -> Gameplay -> Combat Pop-Up Length [Needs Testing]
FEATURES: Whether to give XP to downed characters after combat is now a setting in Settings -> Difficulty -> “XP For Downed Characters”. It is now set to “Enabled” for all difficulties except High.
FEATURES: The recipes listed under and ingredients “Use in” entry are now hyperlinked.
FEATURES: When selecting new spells, you can see all the spells in the relevant school. The spells that are currently locked are marked with a gray padlock.
FEATURES: Feats that increases the tier of a spell school now lists all spell available to that school

MISC: Added some error checking to achievement setting
MISC: Fixed about 150 typos
MISC: Slightly improved mouse interactions with multi-tile prop hitboxes.
MISC: Made it so that spell aptitude increases both the min and max value of the damage / healing output.
MISC: Further worked on improving performance and limiting FPS-drops
MISC: Versioning no longer says pre-launch
MISC: Made the breath-holding puzzle under the lighthouse easier by adding 1 turn to the breath holding duration
MISC: Increased the Vitality provided by heal effects.
MISC: I made the ground tiled darker to improve readability and reduce bleeding.
MISC: Removed a few unnecessary uses of the “C-word”

BUG: Pressing the button ‘2’ while naming saves caused the dialogue window to close.
BUG: The Steam Cloud file was visible in the save folder
BUG: Dropping items on tiles like open doors or on tiles with hidden script triggers did not cause the “bag” icon to show.
BUG: Hospitallers could not use heavy armor
BUG: Some players had the game start fine and then made a save and quit. Upon starting again the game would hang after the logo reveal – before the menus loaded in.
BUG: Ilya in Firgol had “Hound” set as her race.
BUG: The issue with the two guards in the cellar under Oleg’s house should not be less pronounced
BUG: Some props (like trapdoors) were missing labels (names)
BUG: Tried again to fix item weight bug
BUG: Circle of mental restoration stunned targets
BUG: There was a formatting issue in the credits menu with the Raw Fury names (the tabulation was too big)
BUG: Selecting a new character with a potential level up while in the Feat screen did not trigger the level up pop-up
BUG: Certain equipable items (jewelry) would be tagged as stackable and equipping them would cause the entire stack to be equipped. These stacks should now be split up upon loading as non-equippable item can be tagged as stackable.
BUG: In some very narrow cases, if Iago was somehow knocked out in the Father fight, he would occasionally NOT spawn in the sea-cave after leaving the party.
BUG: Fixed a bug where the crafting station in the brewery in Firgol was boxed in.
What a ****.
What a cuntish ****... ****.

Boring as **** combat, but I have to admit I'm interested in the mix of old-school dnd mixed with genuine eldritch elements. It's sort of uncanny.

But yeah, **** the combat. Maybe I'm just a mental midget, but whatever.

I liked mix of fantasy with Lovecraftian cosmic horror too. Speaking about fights - I actually liked mechanics of them, but they were a bit too easy.

Not enough. ~20 hrs. Guessing because I get up from my games often. The more I think about it the more soured I am on the experience. But the game was engaging while playing. Maybe more of an 8/10. Recommend? On a sale.

Ratings after ~15 hours finished. I "rushed" the endgame cause it was boring.

Combat - 3

Art - 8

Writing - 8

Endgame quality - 2

C&C - 1

Overall feels-based score - 7.5

Buy it if you have nostalgia for this.

I'm only 5 hours into my 2nd play (first attempt I quit after around 10 hours because I hated playing as a Guild Mage), and for me it's a 9/10 so far. I ******* love it.

Ranger. WAY better. A lot more active, way less time micro managing, and bizarrely his magic has felt more useful so far too.

Mage was just too much faffing about and investment in resting, crafting and potions for too little interactivity and return on the battlefield. It's low-level D&D so I expect that's intentional and gets better, but it still wasn't fun.

Is that quest bugged?

Jakubs goats. Optional I can try to convince Jakub, but he is not talking to me anymore. Am I missing something or is it bugged?

This has an update coming next week, but it looks like it's mostly Steam deck and controller fixes. :0of5:
========================================CORE 1.0.6========================================
FEATURES
- There are now a good number of different CRT-filters to choose from
- The game now natively supports controller play on PC and Steam Deck
- You may now use the mouse-wheel to scroll while mousing over menus and text fields
- The game's playability on Steam Deck has been vastly improved
- You can now use the move-buttons / left joystick to deploy party members in the pre-combat party placement state (until now you've had to use the mouse).
- Pressing the "Swap Character" button ('Q' / RIGHT BUMPER) in combat, cycles through available targets
- Character level cap is raised to 25
- Certain enemies in the late game will now scale past level 20 making the end-game slightly more difficult
- Added new Bard class. This includes a new school of spells.
- Added new Backgrounds: Entertainer, Laborer, Monastic, Nomad, Snake-Cultist

ART
- Added a dozen new illustrations
- Added 10 new player portraits

MISC
- Fixed typos
- Tweaked font readability slightly

This is interesting: He's going to release the editor he used to create SKALD. Modders should be able to fix the boring combat and I'm sure someone around here will create an RPGHQ.ORG-approved dewokified mod.
Hey there @everyone ! Hope this finds you all well ❤️ As a little treat to you awesome Discorders, I'd like to give you a bit of an exclusive opportunity to come on and help beta-test the upcoming update: Namely the Skald Data Editor (SkaDE tool)!

Now, I'm not going to lie: This is a pretty powerful and complicated tool so it might not be for everyone. The public Beta we'll be rolling out (sooner than you'd think) also has some restricted features as we need to take this step by step. That being said, it's essentially the tool I used to make Skald and my dream is to see you making amazing stuff with it!

All that to say, if you want to offer to help test the SkaDE BETA, go to <#956844293446848522> and the modding tools signup and tag the indomitable <@108173180941643776>there! We'll eventually reach out in DM (but keep in mind out capacity is limited so we likely can't get to all of you). In any case, keep an eye on the modding related channels as we'll be making the first tutorials public shortly.

Best of luck - I can't wait to see where you take this!

This is the first set of tutorials (it looks like it requires a mod.io account, so can't see it). https://mod.io/g/skald-against-the-bl?p ... 912f7b7366

Sorry about the low res. That's all that is available from the source (I tracked it down).

If they haven't tried to pull the BG3 editor lockdown ********, then we may be able to de-woke this *****.

To accompany the above announcement, here is a sneak-peak at the mod . io page we'll be using. It's mostly empty but it contains the first few tutorials for the modding tool so feel free to read through to see if this is for you:
https://mod.io/g/skald-against-the-bl?p ... 912f7b7366
MOD.io REQUIRES account logging.
Don't be stupid and link your Steam or Discord or whatever, considering that you may be making/downloading mods the wokies running this **** may not like.
Make a ******** throwaway account.
