Nines saving you from Sabbat scum
Which is hilarious, since you've already mowed your way through quite a few of their goons singlehandedly by that point, and the game does nothing to indicate the bunch that ambushed you are any more powerful.

they don't stand a chance against an informed human populace.
Especially since it's laughably easy to spot them in a crowd via thermal cameras, what with vampires having the temperature of a corpse.

When I was younger I could sympathize with the Anarchs, but nowadays I just view them as petulant manchildren, too cowardly to join the Sabbat, throwing a tantrum because the elders don't let them wave their undead dicks around.

Jack's comments
He's also a libtard

That "fascist crap" stops vampires from being wiped out. They survive only due to not being known. Repeated breaks of the masquerade lead to the second inquisition which resulted in special forces going around genociding vamps, they don't stand a chance against an informed human populace.
Yes, which is why I don't find Jack's case to be convincing, nor the anarchs appealing vis-a-vis the camarilla.

Then again in Vtmb you already have people being gored on cctv by nagaraja, tzimisce snuff films, legions of undead held at bay by one ghoul with a shotgun, the sabbat running amok and letting whole gangs in on the secret. Feels like knowledge of the supernatural among the humans is a foregone conclusion.

Well, we have **** running entire countries through their golems and openly holocausting palestinians and normalfags don't give a ****. So, it'd probably be the same if the vampires were discovered.

Worse.

The movie Daybreakers takes such a scenario to the logical extreme - humans discover that vampires are real, and that they are immortal, can heal nearly any wound and are free from disease - so nearly all humans become vampires, which in turn leads to a shortage of blood because there are so few natural humans left around to produce it.

Instead of humans panicking about the existence of vampires, it's more likely that humanity would systematically hunt down vampires and force them to embrace humans so that everyone (or everyone that can afford it) could be immortal.

20 years ago, I thought that the dance floor thing was weird and gay. Now I think it's the best thing ever, and the fact that it gives humanity is actually a great mechanic.

I do wish it didn't take so long to activate. Once you're aware that it exists I don't think it should take 5 real world minutes of staring at your character doing an animation.

Made it to the downtown area and I've discovered a minor time saving trick: If you push against walls as you move you run faster.

My problem with the way morality is handled in the game is that it's far too easy to max out Humanity, the game is very generous with the morality points, and there's very few choices in the game that could be considered difficult to make - you either behave like a decent human or like the kind of depraved animal even a Tzimisce would disapprove.

The game tries to sell you the idea that vampire morality and cultural norms are different, but doesn't do a particularly good job of letting the player experience this.

I've hit downtown. Struggled a bit with a couple of quests though. Get the werewolf blood seems impossible to do undetected but at least you get a few chances before you have to leave. Also it would seem you can't do it without a certain hacking level which, if the case, is a bit disappointing. I would usually expect more than one way to skin a cat.

For the explodey mission I did the same idea as @logincrash and did a few runs through before reloading to do it undetected. I screwed up the end though and just ran back to the start while being shot at.

Starting to have serious doubts about my build and I'm considering restarting. Unarmed with claws just doesn't seem to be working for me.

I played it unarmed this time, max. fortitude really helped me of course. Close combat was trivial, but there were some range encounters, especially those with a pretty open field, that were a bit tricky. Gangrel Prot is just so **** slow.

Yeah I've found out to use Fortitude with Protean for longevity. I'm struggling when it's more than one target. Somehow I keep missing them both or getting hit by one while I'm attacking the other and then taking ages to regain control of my character.

Yeah it's really about timing the animation, both from your char and the enemy to not waste any attacks and punch air.

Finished Downtown. Fighting Bishop Vick was a *****, considering he aped my "Turn on Celerity and start blasting with your shotgun" strategy.
Had to kill Pisha, because eating human flesh is disgusting.
Image
The Grout manor was much easier than I remembered it being.
This was the first time I noticed that "Nines" had an echo every time he said anything.
Image
The aggravated damage from all the lunatics running around while being set on fire was no bueno, though.
Image
The museum level was really annoying to sneak through. And all for Beckett to launch into his reddit atheist speech.

Just got to Hollywood.
Got the quest to kill the vampire hunter stripper. Went into the room with her, she hit me with a katana once, I Frenzied and drained her.
Literally didn't have to press a single button to kill her. Easiest boss fight ever.

I extracted a couple icons from the game to potentially use as this game's badge

I think they look better than just a jpeg of the camarilla symbol and fit the theme of other badges.

Personally I think either the camarilla symbol or the blood drop would be good. The Camarilla symbol is a bit generic since it's usually used to cover the whole franchise which might not be ideal if we ever add Redemption to the list

I had a ******* dream that I was coming up to my Downtown apartment through the vents, and there was Sabbat crawling all over the building. I actually felt danger because they could spot me through the vent grates and would send weird looking flesh golems and blood ghosts after me. I had to make my way to a roof and not fall to my death as I was hanging off the edge.
That's what I get for trying to stealth three ******** levels in this game before bed.

Also, I like the blood drop icon that @Vergil l posted. It's already small enough and it looks suitably pixelated, like the Alpha Protocol badge.

I hope you guys are watching the official Vampire: The Masquerade television series while you play
Kindred: The Embraced is an American television series produced by John Leekley Productions and Spelling Television.[1] Loosely based on the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade,[1] the series premiered on Fox on April 2, 1996, and ran for seven episodes before it was canceled with one episode unaired on May 9, 1996. Scripts for two other episodes were never filmed.

I remember watching an episode of that show after getting into VtMB. I found it boring because it looked like a regular crime drama, but now that I am enlightened to the fact that VtM isn't gay vampire fiction but mobster kino at its core, I'll give it another watch. Maybe it's better than I gave it credit.
