Recommended mods for a different experience? Is the community patch the only one? I guess I can do a malkavion(sp?) Playthrough for it's uniqueness

Honestly I really can't. The most commonly recommended mod I've seen is the clan quest mod which is a commendable effort as far as adding new content to this janky old game but none of the content even remotely meshes with the base game and is of pretty poor quality. Towards the end of the game it replaces a segment with a long drawn out additional section that totally demolishes the pacing. It also adds a literal ****** vampire

I thought he was going to say something about fatherlessness too.

I don't play mediocre visual novels, so I didn't fall for it

Don't remember I ever had to increase the sv_friction value. But standard movement just way too slippery.

It's a little uncomfortable for me to get used to at first as well but I keep it as is since it feels a lot better for dodging bullets once you get celerity pumped up high enough.

VTMB is always a good time. Might actually play this one; it's been a few years.

I like playing Tremere the most for their blood magic, albeit with a modded appearance.

Always seemed weird to me that there were no customization options besides sex and clan. Gimme some hair colors at least.

This filtered me on the game for quite a while alone.

Obviously I've done it a few times already but this is the first time I've gone through the ghost hotel while actually playing in pitch dark at night and it was getting me a little bit but this took me right out of it and into laughter

I would just open my curtains and crank up the monitor brightness to max when playing that level.

You shouldn't be playing during daylight hours. :goldfish:

I actually value my sleep now. I used to stay up until 4-5 AM and wake up at 2-3 PM. Now that I fixed my sleeping schedule (11PM-7AM), I get more **** done and I feel much better overall.

**** Half Life for introducing "in-game cutscenes." This has started the trend of unskippable cutscenes that is just blood-boilingly infuriating. And having to watch the same long cutscene every time I change my mind about which Clan I am playing in this game is aggravating to no end.

On a lighter note:

And on a ******* hilariously fat-fingered note, I've been deleting all the dozens of quicksaves that I have made and, to expedite the process, I decided to do so from the Load Game menu. Since clicking "Delete Saved Game" and pressing Enter for Yes would be faster if there's no "Create a new save" option at the top of the saves list. Well, surprise ******* surprise, after successfully deleting like 10-15 of the most recent quicksaves, I double pressed Enter like a clumsy ****** that I am and lost like an 30-45 minutes of comfily exploring Santa Monica.

And on a nostalgic note, I used to play VtMB on my ****** computer that barely ran it so much, that I would optimize the route to get all the quests and quest items in Santa Monica with minimum loading screens. Now walking down those streets again is like travelling back in time, very trippy.

Okay, since I butterfingered my way into deleting a bunch of saves and I wasn't that far into the game, I will restart as a Toreador. As much as it pains me to play as a Diva, I am curious how one would react to the Nosferatu and to that one quest where you have to tear up a movie script because Vivian is too much of an artiste to destroy the work of another creative.
That and I want to max out Celerity and I will not under any circumstance consider playing as a ******.

Don't feel too bad I made a minor build mistake and ****** up a quest and figured it was early enough in the game I didn't mind restarting and speed running back to where I was.

Honestly I wish they had leaned into the Toreador's weaknesses and particular quirks a bit more. For what's clearly meant to be a more social geared vampire they're one of the best combat classes due to celerity and ranged bonuses. It basically turns into Blade or The Matrix once you pump it enough.

Wouldn't that expose you to the accursed light of the hated daystar and burn you to ash rapidly?

People got scared by the Ocean Hotel mission ? What ? There are scarier games and sequences in games out there.
It is a good mission nonetheless.

Thought of starting as a Malkavian but will keep this option for another play-through in the future. Since I got only to the Chinatown last save years ago and it is recommended to know the game somewhat.
So Ventrue again it is, with the following stats:
2 in Charisma, Appearance & Wits, Scholarship, Dominate. 1 in Brawl, Dodge, Firearms & Computer. Everything else default.
Gotta say, Gangrel looked interesting. Can't they shapeshift into animals ? Is there anything akin to werewolves ?

About Werewolves: Didn't they arrive in the rail station quest and fought vampires ? Or is this a faulty memory ?
