Overview
Grounded Commonwealth is a mod for Fallout 4 that overhauls hundreds of NPCs, quests and the game's writing and dialogue so that the experience now aligns more with what you would expect from a caricatured America that never moved on from its 1950s Atomic Age culture. No more sassy girl boss raiders, modern demographics, modern political posturing or modern writing tropes.

Dozens of main characters have been reworked and revoiced, and the dialogue of several quests has been adjusted along with several scenes being changed. This project was massive, and it took almost a year to complete.

Background
Mod was removed from Nexus and ModDB for being "discriminatory" and having "racially charged content".

I reached out to the author of this mod, AmericanKrogan, and stated I was willing to mirror his mod for him after it was censored by NexusMods and placed under review by ModDB, and he did not seem to have an issue with us mirroring it. He also told another forum member he has no issue with it being hosted elsewhere.

@rusty_shackleford you might be tapping a gold vein here.. (although I believe it was largely MY idea)

If you offer a consistent high uptime safe harbor for mod hosting, RPGHQ could become a defacto ******** ground for like minded freedom oriented individuals.

Anyway I played it a little last night. Didn't notice any changes to the long and cringe beginning sequence and still saw three nogs, but then I got to Preston and realized that that mod wasn't activated. After looking up and trying to remember how mods work I got new preston working. He looks great, but his new white voice is just as bad as the old black voice. Very grating wise-guy voice that seems unsuited to a guy wearing a cowboy hat and duster.

I'm gonna try to head straight to diamond city tonight and see how much that's changed.

I am reminded of how **** a voiced protag is and how much I'll miss being able to walk around or away during conversations in Starfield.

I'm 8 hours in now and I haven't seen a single non-white. The most diversity is Takahashi the noodle robot. Other than Preston the new voices blend in really well.

I've heard about this mod. I didn't know it was made by AmericanKrogan. His YouTube videos were great and very entertaining to watch.

I like how they gave it a couple of weeks just to be able to say they conducted a thorough investigation and so keep up the pretense that this was for anything other than the political stance of the creator and the mod.
