Steam Workshop
It seems Valve has killed all means of downloading Workshop mods for games that you don't """own""" through Steam. SteamCMD is dead. WorkshopDL is removed from GitHub, and even if you have the latest version already installed like I do, downloads through any of its four providers fail. This makes Workshop the most restrictive extant modding platform.

What's gay is farms in Rome 2 causing squalor. Not through "population booms" but just adding ******* squalor for cultivating a field. Its literally the opposite of urban decay. ModDB remains the best place to find mods for older games, but anybody can post a mod there, make 0 progress on it for 15 years, and it stays up, so its cluttered with ****. Like your room.
Weirdest cracker you know.

When I tried to use it, it said I would need to be logged in with an account that owns the game for it to work. Maybe that isn't the case for all games.MadPreacher wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 08:43I download just fine using SteamCMD. It just requires you to login now.

There are some sites that mirror steam workshop downloads, but I can't remember any off hand. You might find one if you search google for a mod's name in quotes, preferably a mod with a more unique name.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

I found Skymods but its catalogue isn't comprehensive. I suppose it's unlikely to find a site that mirrors all Workshop content, especially mods for an obscure indie game.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 09:28There are some sites that mirror steam workshop downloads, but I can't remember any off hand. Well do you own the game? If not you could always start a thread dedicated to people asking for workshop mods for specific games.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 09:26When I tried to use it, it said I would need to be logged in with an account that owns the game for it to work. Not on Steam, which is the problem.
I already decided not to bother with the game in question, but this can be that thread in the future. Even better if @rusty_shackleford gets RPGHQ file hosting working.MadPreacher wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 10:12If not you could always start a thread dedicated to people asking for workshop mods for specific games.

I was genuinely curious what game you needed mods for because I wanted to help you out if I could.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 10:22Not on Steam, which is the problem.I already decided not to bother with the game in question, but this can be that thread in the future. It was Himeko Sutori. The dev posts on the Codex so I had been vaguely interested for a while. As is my custom I investigated a little before starting to see if there were any worthwhile mods, but 12 of the 13 of them can only be found on the Workshop. Anyway, after pressing on modless for a bit, I concluded I wasn't interested in continuing with or without mods, but that's a topic for a different thread.MadPreacher wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 10:46I was genuinely curious what game you needed mods for because I wanted to help you out if I could.

I tried downloading a mod for that game and the developer has it set for game owners only can download. It's a developer/publisher setting not a Steam enforced thing. That's the information I got when I went to https://steamworkshopdownloader.io/ to check to download a mod for that game.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 11:16It was Himeko Sutori. Oh an FYI, if you get a bin file from SteamCMD you can open it up just fine with WinRar. It's just a form of a zip file.
You made the right choice. The idea behind that game is interesting, but it's not done very well and the game as a whole is pretty underwhelming.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ July 25th, 2023, 11:16It was Himeko Sutori.
