Does anyone else own this? It would be fun to play with some HQ bros. I don't like very many multiplayer games, but this one would be fun to play together. It's a hell of a lot better than SFV

I don't, but would consider if you're still down for it in August. Should be home by then.

My *** is too tight to spend full price on a game but that sounds fun.

I own it, and like it better than SF5, but I've barely put in around 5-7 hours into the game. I just can't motivate myself to play. Haven't even practised any combos.

More of a me thing than a problem with the game. If HQ bros start playing maybe that'll motivate me.

I've had about the same experience. I enjoyed the world tour mode, then placed into silver without bothering to learn any combos, then stopped playing because I don't have a rival to motivate me to git gud

I think SF6 currently is a rather ****** game that's one of the finest cases of how much rot stream/influence culture can affect a thoroughly mediocre game.

I don't give a **** about this World Tour so if you like to run around punching things good for you, to me single player in fighting games is pointless and I thoroughly am disgusted by people that buy fighting games and never fight others.

First off, let's talk about how **** this roster is. 18 characters in a 30 year franchise is unacceptable in 2023. If you're going to do an 18 character roster of a game with as much potential as the SF series has then they better be 18 great characters. Instead they give a whole bunch of terrible new characters and the original World Warriors. Nobody actually likes Dhalsim, Blanka or Honda. Wasted slots.

The Drive system is as bad as the V-System was in SFV currently. It takes systems from previous SF games that worked well in those specific games and decides to make them braindead. Parry is literally the Mortal Kombat block button so cross-ups are now dead, Drive Impact is a 3 hit armored focus attack with free combo crumple and death in the corner, Drive Rush is a **** neutral command which is where they stuffed all the combo potential and not all characters are equal when you see how it's almost impossible to react to certain characters like Juri and Ken. The Drive Gauge being full at the start of every round, your Critical Arts being their own separate meter, it abandons all concept of meter management and most matches will be over by the time you risk burnout. Going back to Drive Impact, I don't like how it actively discourages you from playing traditional SF because any poke above jabs/shorts may as well not exist due to lack of plus frames on so many normals for the cast which means random DIs are retardedly effective to just throw out on occasion especially if you see your opponent daring to try and space you with footsies. While the Drive system is universal for the cast there's still balancing problems (mostly with Drive Rush) and just because everyone can do the same thing doesn't make it any less trash. In fact you'll start to notice most characters play the same gameplan making for boring engagement.

Modern controls vs. Classic controls is whatever. I think the only Modern character actually worth it is Luke since he loses almost nothing but most people don't know the 20% less damage thing Modern players face only applies to the "easy specials" button. You can still do the special manually and get proper damage.

Ranking system is pretty **** too. You win points way more than you lose so your rank doesn't really mean much so long as you can maintain a hair above 50% win rate. It may take long, but eventually you'll hit Master. TBH many fighting games have ****** ranking systems so it's no surprise.

Too many characters have this autistic minigame you have to play with them and I don't know why developers think this is enjoyable. Jaime has to sip gamer juice five times to get progressively stronger, Manon needs medals so her main command grab can do nearly 50% of your life, Juri needs to build up stocks for her moves to function well, etc. I never thought this Injusticey **** added depth, only annoyance. No surprise most of the characters believed to be strong currently don't need to really engage with this.

Only good thing is how easy it is to find matches so it's nice to hop on to and netcode seems pretty good barring some Jamaican ganja fucks I had to 500ms with one time. I heard it has a matchmaking issue where it'll grab from the same pool of players each session which is annoying.

KOF XV is better. Play that instead and learn how to ******* short hop, scrub.

I enjoyed the world tour mode because it added some nice rpg elements. It was kind of neat to be able to play through it with Chun's normals and a mix of specials from other characters. I would like to see a competitive fighter based entirely around creating your own character like that.

I've always liked snk fighters the best, so I'll agree that kof xv is the better game. I like how the team I've been using since the 90s (Yuri, Mai, Athena) is an official team in the game. I just pirated for playing with friends offline because there was no crossplay. Maybe I'll pick it up soon now that it has it.

I think Soul Caliber is basically create-a-fighter at this point.

I've come to the conclusion that it would probably be impossible to balance, but it would be amazing if someone could make it work. Nothing makes a game better to me than build faggery
