Poll: Nomination vintage

Post by J1M »

Should there be any restrictions on when a game can be nominated for the Junior Adventurer's Guild?

It's @Oyster Sauce's decision to make, since he rules the JAG with an iron fist, but perhaps this poll will be informative.

Without any restrictions, there may be some unintended consequences... Image

I'd say since it is Junior AG, that means more "modern" games, so even Bloodlines 2 would qualify imho.

Since it's the Junior Adventurer's Guild, games should have to be less than 21 years old to be allowed.

Didn't put this in the OP since I didn't want to bias the poll too much, but I think it should be part of the discussion. Nominating a brand new game increases the barrier to entry in terms of cost. Some of the more successful AG months have been when games have been steeply discounted. It helps when people are on the fence about trying a game outside their comfort zone.

Also, I changed my vote since, according to the Talmud, playing a game less than 3 years old is nothing more than a poke in the eye.

Agree.
I'm not against nominations of even brand new games but I'm very unlikely to play them because they usually have modern problems (bloat, bad optimization, pozz etc). But we still have votes and users can decide what they want to play.

If there's a demand for trying modern games we can open a new sub-division of AG. We can call it...uh...Sloppy Adventurer's Guild.

We all have to admit, it is very thoughtful of @J1M to allow @Oyster Sauce to make the final call.
