Dead Island 2

Post by SDG »

Releases is less than 24 hours and I just preordered it. Not sure how popular Dead Island is in this community but I consider the original to be the best zombie slaying game not called Resident Evil. Reviews have confirmed it's basically the same game but better so I'm sold. Anybody else interested?

I think the remarkable thing about these games is the quality first person melee combat. There's a very short list of games that have quality first person melee combat (probably less than 10 in existence). This is one of the rare few.

That's a weird spelling of Dying Light.

The only good zombie series is House of the Dead, and maybe RE 1-3. When the plot made sense and wrapped up nicely. Too bad the demake of House of the Dead turned out so bad, typical of modern Sega.

But Dying Light is a game I never got into, it was decent enough but I never felt any desire to replay it. It's as generic a zombie game as you can get, visually.

**** Dying Light, I wont even try it. That parkour crap is for special ed kids. I never want that *** Creed/Mirror's Edge ******** in my zombie slaying games.

Remember when Techland uploaded the developer debug version of Dead Island 1 instead of the commercial release when the game came out? Big kek.

The characters in this game make the cast of Birds of Prey look reasonable.

Dani seemed the least cringe from the start and so far I'm okay with her. Irish rocker gal with thick thighs.

Why is this getting a sequel 12 years after the first game? I remember playing the original and it was pretty meh. Typical slow paced and boring sandbox stuff. Nothing particularly good or bad about it. I'm pretty sure I put it down after a couple of hours and never touched it again.

The gore system is pretty cool, I'll give it that. The last game I remember going that hard on the gore was Solider or Fortune.

I find all this photorealistic gore in games to be borderline demonic. Are we so desensitized to violence that we find such things tolerable, if not 'enjoyable'?.

3d models? I don't give a ****. Murdering in games is fun.

Real gore? I dont enjoy it in the slightest. But i'm also not squeamish about it.

One thing i do find kinda funny is how slapping some sexy looking ****'s butt in a video game is considered worse than butchering her to pieces. You can butcher some ***** but you can't be sexist lol. Priorities.
