Witcher 1 is very good if you can get past the weird combat.

Got myself Stein's Gate for two bucks and Caliber+ for 30 bucks since the game has me hooked. Just need more people to play it with because sometimes randoms are ********
I also got Robocop with the Unfinished Business Addon.

So far nothing special - bought Stronghold 2 on Steam and the Anno collection on GOG, also Settlers 2 and Imperium Galactica 1+2, all on GOG.

Considering buying Knight's Tale, dunno what else to buy, I have most of the stuff I want, open to suggestions.

It's pretty great, with a few caveats.

I think the biggest gripe I have with it is the one weapon limit. You have his Auto 9 always available, and it has unlimited ammo, plus you can modify how the gun behaves via chips you find during missions, and then you can carry another weapon with you. It's irritating in the same way Republic Commando's weapon limit was, since many of the guns you come across are pretty cool and fun to use.

The budget is another issue - human characters look rubbery and the faces don't animate well, which is especially noticeable during cutscenes.

In-between main missions you get dumped into the police station or the streets of dystopian future Detroit (that still looks less like a shithole than modern Detroit) where you get the chance to explore and complete side quests. Exploring the locales is great, especially the police station from the movies, but the side quests aren't particularly engaging and feel more like padding than anything else. You do get some basic choices and consequences in what you decide - whether to follow the letter or the spirit of the law, so that's nice.

Killing enemies and completing side quests and story missions nets you XP that you can use to upgrade Robocop to suit your playstyle. The builds aren't all that radically different from one another, but at least an effort was made.

The hallmarks of the game are the combat, which is very fun, the guns feel powerful and you can throw enemies at one another, or use other items as impromptu projectiles. Also, **** shots are a thing. The other great aspect is the fanservice - not only is Robocop voiced by his original actor, but you get to see a lot of cool stuff from the universe, like ED-209s being used by the police (and you actually raiding a location with them), the technology in the setting is explored in a bit more detail etc.

It's clear the game was made by people that care about Robocop, and if you liked this game, the Terminator "prequel" is also pretty neat, following mostly the same format.

Says the user living in the pirate country of the world. No one gives a **** that you pirate in Russia. Every other country tries to **** you for pirating.

Edit: Not saying this in a negative way. If I could pirate without anyone giving a ****, I would probably have a thousand SSDs full of content.

You should only buy games from developers I think deserve money. Like the guys who made the game in my OP, or the guys who made the Robocop game.

Otherwise, you should pirate it and then think hard about buying some HQ Plat :)

There are still ways to put money into steam-wallet to buy stuff that isn't region locked, and if it is there are VPNs for that. And there actually exist those cuckolds who do jump trough those hoops to give money to them.

I'd actually much rather devs would put their games into free access themselves with some links to their patreon/kickstarter/whatever else they got to pay them if they did a good game, but i guess they get a lot more sales if it's on steam with it's 30% comission.

I need help deciding which to pass on or wait for another sale. I'm buying a bunch of stuff for <$10, however, these are also on sale but still more than $20. Are any not worth that much?

currently waiting for this to drop even lower 40% discount for a 10 year old game and still costing $26 is just too much. Minecraft with zombies game, where you can build fortresses and see how the the zombies hoardes every 7 days try to break in, currently playing an older cracked version and digging a channel arround my base, even had to break open the road. And will probably have to dig another 1km trench to fill it with water from the nearest river.
But the vanilla progression with magazines kinda sucks if you cant even get a concrete mixer before you find 30 magazines. Unless you lucky and merchant sells it maybe but only visited 2 yet and they way too expensive anyway and all the concrete mixers/workbenches in the world ofc dont work and cant be repaired and taken with you. :broken:

If you enjoy the building aspect and taking your time gathering resources/looting you can spend 1k+ hours even alone. Also there are lots of mods I heard. But I wont touch them for the first playthrough yet. But its a giant time waster, so if you dont have much better dont even start. Had a few days where 10hours went by way too fast.

I really liked it. You really feel like Robocop as it is slow with his movements but very tanky. It's not a CoD style twitch reflex shooter so it got flak because of it but that was never the intended experience. This was a game about playing like Robocop and you do feel like Robocop while playing the game so I think it achieved what it set out to do.
