Just as the title says.
What do you think about localization or as me and many others call it lolcowlization or troonslation these days are for you.
For me and many others its all total dogshit. And what do you guys think of it these days? let me know down in the comments below.

It varies. Ofcourse you have the higher profile butchering of Trails, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, and the lead dangerhair lowcolizer of FF14 interfering in the creation of the product at the source. But you also have perfectly fine localizations coming out such as Granblue Fantasy (the original gacha/VN, not Relink which was butchered) and Monochrome Mobius.
To be more specific about the current problems:
Fire Emblem: IIRC the issues began with Fates. Most egregiously, entire support conversations that explained why the plot was happening and character's feelings were removed or butchered, which made the plot less coherent. A conversation between two assassins reflecting on how they kill people for their cause was removed for what someone at Nintendo Treehouse might have thought was a funny "joke". It was not funny. And then on top of that you features being removed like petting your waifu.
Xenoblade 2 was localized by a different team than the one that did XBC1. They saw that XBC1 had British voice acting and was praised for it and decided to hire British voice actors too, but were unable to direct the VAs to be on the same level of quality as XBC1's. Also, the localizers changed the plot device nouns/terminology and removed major plot explanations for no apparent reason, so you have to use the fan translation patch to make the late game story make sense. Same issue with XBC3.
Trails: apparently the localizers were writing fanfiction as soon as the very first game, Trails in the Sky FC. The extremely expressive Estelle that the Western fandom loves is not the Estelle that Falcom created. I wonder if the remake being published by GungHo will faithfully adapt the original Estelle, but these Japanese devs almost always remain ignorant of what their overseas fans are trying to warn them about the localizers and just take their localizer's words at face value, so we might be in for more fanfiction. And ofcourse, SJW localizers scrubbing what they perceive as sexism and racism from the games and inserting their own agenda. Kondo said he was proud of Calvard's depiction of American issues such as racism and immigration, which to me sounds like he has someone whispering in his ear... probably those NISA or Geofront people who have been translating the games and do interviews with him. Given the current circumstances with the franchise and the Western fandom, it seems unlikely the remake will get a fan translation patch like with the other Trails games.

Ted Woolsey is the best localizer there has ever been.
We already have an active discussion on this (which you would know if you weren't just a tourist here).

I gotta say, some of the fake lines match the face a lot more. The original text is just flat lines that in no way matches the extreme facial expressions of the character. This may not be a good translation of what the text says, but it sure as hell matches what the face says.
