I have Sorcery on my phone and it's a good adaptation. I've seen reviews for the Fighting Fantasy that say they are just ports of the mobile version and the interface isn't great. As far as being an adaptation of the books, though, Sorcery is good and I've heard the same about FF.

Not much to add. I totally agree. The main change from the books, iirc, was the combat system. In the app, combat is based on an "energy" system (you basically have your base skill + energy point spent each turn, and highest score deals damage to opponent or something).
I liked it better than Gamebook combat system, but it remains a bit simplistic.

As the book it is based on, it is mostly about finding regents to cast cool spells at the right time.
