So, noticed while trying to find good videos to learn more about some games more in-depth, that there are hardly any good videos and content creators which fit the bill. Doesn't mean that there aren't any. Just not many could be found. They can be found in the list below. Kinda hilarious how it contrasts with how many faggy hours-long essays are on YT. Not talking about retrospectives which also go into the development history.
Annotation: For archiving purposes and a clearer view, there are invidio.us instances instead of YT-links. If there are issues with downloading from the one linked, switch the instance. The option can be found directly to the left below the video title. All of the content creators have a reasonable level of knowledge and expertise in Computer Science and in some cases Advanced Math. They are also game-focused.
Playlists
Decino - Doom player and analyst. Disseminates how the game works with its various components. Enemy Types, Enemy AI, Sound, Level Design, Level Object Interactions, to name a few.
Pannenkoek2012/UncommentatedPannen - Famous for the parallel universes meme. Has knowledge of CS & Math. Focus on Super Mario 64, but very in-depth with its game mechanics.
Bismuth - Invested in the speed-run scene, but analyses various game's codes and mechanics.
Displaced Gamers - Analyses codes from various old games. Saw it being from NES so far.
Malleo - TASer who has focused mainly on Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door before. Makes good use of mathematics in some videos.
Kaze Emanuar - Super Mario 64 Modder and probably the best one of them. Focuses on that game, but also has other videos where he goes into how the N64 functioned and made the game work like it does as well as some code optimizations. The knowledge helps with other N64 titles too.
PatmanQC - History of Arcade Game Documentaries - As the name indicates, focused on arcade games. Talks about some hardware stuff but mostly about the games themselves.
Michael Coorlim - His channel description reads as following: Narrative analysis, video game history, devlogs.
Basement Brothers - About PC-88/98 and NEO GEO games. Videos usually go over the installation process and then analyze the games as a whole with its individual components.
Single Videos
Handmade Boston - Kaze Emanuar N64 Reverse Engineering Class - Goes more in-depth into N64 games' code.
If you find more, or even single videos of interest, feel free to post them.
Thanks @rusty_shackleford and @gerey for the additional content creators. Took them from the other thread to this one. Suits this topic more.
Considering moving this post to the other thread under this category or content preservation.
