Lightsabers **** on everything, that said.

You can delay leveling up until you get your jedi training. This gets you more levels in jedi and less in stupid ****. My personal best was 2 levels of soldier, 18 levels of guardian.
You can over level on scoundrel for bonus sneak attack
In console there was a glitch where you could give your jedi training to an NPC, the wookie was a fun option.

Jedi consular is typical RPG mage build, try and get more than 12 levels if you can

I always do a pure mage consular when I play KOTOR. It's even more powerful in KOTOR II.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

I found getting some base levels in scout and or scoundrel was useful to get a boost in class skills/skill points to pass various checks early on and even later in the game.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

If you use a min/max build you're going to make the game boring

I've only played KOTOR I once, and as far as I remember: everything works as long as you get Force Immunity.

For KOTOR II, you're a bit more flexible, but unfortunately, because of the fact that crafting breakdown is tied to your main chars skills, the far superior class is Watchman/ Assassin.
(Unless you're willing to make Bao-Dur the head of your assault team for the Tomb, in which case that will be the ONLY time in the whole game when someone else's skills will apply, and you can take the opportunity to break down and craft whatever you need)
Also... Force Immunity rocks.

Mediocre or bad games can still have parts that are good.

Aspyr was hired to port kotor 2 to mac/linux and ended up doing a bunch of fixes for it, including integrating steam workshop. Rather annoying kotor 2 has workshop support but kotor doesn't.

I know a lot of people swear by using dual blasters and force speed as a fun way to play in both games. I have autism though so I only do the exact same build and make the exact same decisions every playthrough of the game I do.

I remember being in a steam petition group for KOTOR II to be added back in the day. Kind of funny not only did it happen but as you say it's the better PC port now.

Games like these are the reason why I have my old WindowsXP machine still operational.

Even though I put most points in sabers I found by the end I was just ending groups of enemies with lightning.

KOTOR is definitely played best as a lightsaber force user but you can play it mechanically however you like and it still works.

You will have to practice transcendental meditation and let ashtar sheran be your guru though.

The wiki page on ashtar sheran is okay but they misunderstand who he really is. You see ashtar sheran is really Rusty’s starfield character who gained sentience after going into the multiverse
