VR - Quest 3
VR - Quest 3
My experience with VR is limited to a cardboard and phone. I've been intrigued by dedicated headsets for a few years now, pretty much since Alyx was released, but never took the plunge. I've been looking at the Quest 3, but it is pricey for something which might end up gathering dust on a shelf after a few weeks once the novelty is exhausted. Any enthusiasts here? Does it keep its appeal long term or is it a waste of money?
I have a Vive that's been sitting in the closet for a few years now. I've played some amazing experiences you could never have on your PC/console, but those were 2-3 games that released 6 years ago and nothing that's come out since could get me to bother setting up all of cables again.
Find a place nearby that rents them by the hour and play a few rounds of Beat Saber with someone. You'll get enough of the VR experience that way.

This is about what I expected. A somewhat mind-blowing initial few experiences followed by a rapid familiarity and loss of interest. Not worth 500 bucks. Might get it next year at some point if it goes on sale.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ November 15th, 2023, 05:41I have a Vive that's been sitting in the closet for a few years now.
