No, it doesn't matter and I'm not thinking of buying one. It's a gaming-related topic that emerged in my mind and I am curious to know the opinions of other people on a gaming forum, perhaps generating some discussion. That's generally what happens in forums.
I have no opinion on this topic.
I've heard good things, but there's no way I'd spend the money without being able to demo one for hours if not days.
Curved monitors are annoying. Flat screen is best, because it allows you to easily perform physical measurements of screen distance on your monitor without having warpage due to the curvature. Convex curved screens, at least, worked with tape measures, but a concave screen will completely **** that up and you won't be able to measure distances effectively. This will get you absolutely crushed in genres of games like Scorched Earth where fast and accurate measurement is critical.
They look ******** and began only as a way to sell defective screens

Curved monitors aren't actually curved. They are multiple flat panels arranged on a slight angle. Similar to a low-polygon model. I found this jarring and returned mine. They also make it more difficult for someone to spectate.H-H-Holmes wrote: ↑ November 12th, 2023, 09:56No, it doesn't matter and I'm not thinking of buying one. Curved screens were always one the most ******** things to ever grace this world.
Tried an ultra wide curved screen that was on display in a store setup running an openworld FPS. It was interesting for the ten or so minutes I messed with it... but it didn't feel 'better' than my flatscreen.
Unless the price is drastically lower I'd stick with a flat.

I spent countless hours playing the shareware version of Scorched Earth, a true classic.Norfleet wrote: ↑ November 12th, 2023, 12:27This will get you absolutely crushed in genres of games like Scorched Earth where fast and accurate measurement is critical.
The three evils that humanity faces:
Censorship
Telemetry
DRM
I could see curved monitors providing better continuity in a triple monitor set up, but the I'm not sure what games would support that sort of ultra ultra ultra wide set up.
Buy if you like it. Don't if you don't
If not sure, don't. Wait until you wake up craving it
I don't find any appeal in curved monitors, so I wouldn't

It's just my opinion, not the absolute truth

I've owned one for years. The "curved effect" stops being noticeable after about 10-15 minutes of use so I could safely say it's a pointless feature. Aside from that it's a pretty nice monitor.
-The takeaway from this should be: Don't buy a monitor for the curved effect alone as it's largely a gimmick.

I think people who own curved monitors should be beaten to death, publicly.

I have an ultrawide that is curved. Love it. I also alternate with a flat screen depending on the game.

I like my LCDs like I like my women. Flat... no wait, curved. Just not too curved. Tastefully curved.
SERIOUSLY THO
the only time I've seen a curved screen is at the cinema, on the older and more grand cinemascope screens. They are curved.

If I was going to compare a monitor to a woman's chest I would be looking for a convex 32" one.
