Thumbstick is obviously better for movement, one of the reasons I strongly believe the optimal gaming device for most games is a gamepad with a trackball (thumbstick is terrible for camera control and menu navigation)
I have to accept that in an action game the joystick is simply superior for movement, not to mention you have variable speed, something rarely if ever possible with mouse and keyboard.

However, mouse and keyboard are generally sufficient, and true RPG's are RTWP, or Turn Based. It is the unc genre.

Instantly switching directions is more useful than the ability to modify your walk speed in many games and entire genres that utilize 3D movement. Analog WASD is dumb.
Animation issue. I don't believe there's a difference between tapping a button and just moving the stick in another direction
Well, you're wrong, obviously.

You can't press two opposite direction buttons at once with a thumbstick.

There is a difference, which is why digital movement input in 2D games is strictly superior (including fightan'). However, in 3D games, the advantage of being able to move in any direction relative to the camera outweighs it.

Just learned lead writer of new Mass Effect is the writer of Deus ex games and Guardians of Galaxy. They were good enough games. If the companions are not abominations like Andromeda might give it a chance.
ME5's probably cooked to DEI though. Plus the saudis bought EA and Bioware and all they care about are cashcows like fifa and ****

Don't think the first two count as 'big budget', Divinity game yes, but I'm not sure much has been announced(?)

It's not as big as some titles mentioned here, but has some of the people that worked on Chrono Trigger, is RPG and set to release sometime in 2026

I could have guessed that.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Steam store has RPG tag.
Is it big budget ? Dunno. It seems it should be (or should have been) a succesor to Dragon Nest, but they decided to go the route of Granblue Fantasy: Relink (no gacha) with one time purchase for single player experience and extra/side content available for multiplayer.

According to the Hound13 YouTube page, DragonSword: Awakening is no longer a live service game, but instead will be a single player game with optional mutliplayer.

Thank you for your interest in Dragon Sword. There will be cooperative multiplayer content such as subjugation and raids. You can enjoy cooperative multiplayer not only with friends but also with random players through the Steam lobby feature.

Looks like Final Fantasy XVI with cell shading.
