Of course ex-Witcher 3 devs would make a game that looks/feels like Witcher 3. To them, that's the pinnacle. Not my preference, but I can deal with it.

I like the idea of how investing in skills takes time, so you have to weigh the pros and cons of upgrading your character. The Edict system, where the world gets more difficult with each passing day, also seems neat.

They brought a gothic, tatted-up Polish woman on board as a writer to give it the kind of smutty edge one would expect from something titled "Blood of the Dawnwalker."

I am hyped. :turtle dance:

Sounds like a genuine woman to me in the open world video.

Apparently Pierre Begue hired her to provide voice work in Knights of the Chalice 2 https://www.mobygames.com/person/918083 ... arkiewicz/

Combat looks too permissive to be interesting, just parry and feast everything forever. The world looks like a guided tour, you can wander around in the woods but there's nothing to do except handcrafted quests and events.

A woman saying bless you three times to a vampire should really deal damage to him.

Not sure how I feel about a hard 30 day time limit. I'm already very critical of how short RPGs are in gametime as-is, you can't really have an entire RPG set in 30 days unless you give me some really good reasons for rapid character growth.

I liked tw3 but this looks like complete rhino ****. Character looks like a weak virgin school shooter pussy, the animations are ***, the graphics look smeary and gross, the voice acting is pathetic. They keep pushing the idea of a timer but literally nobody enjoys being put on a timer like that, and most people hated it in majora's mask. I assume it's going to make some profit because some of the tw3 developers worked on it which you can tell by the animations and the cutscene styles but yeah it looks weak and not worth buying at all

Perhaps the main character will be transformed into some sort of supernatural creature that empowers itself by consuming the life force of others

That doesn't really make for a good RPG either tho that's the basis of an action game which tbh is witcher 3

Iirc the devs said that the 30 day timer is only active when you do main quests

It's a soft limit, not a hard one. If you don't give a **** about saving your family you can just keep doing everything and then wrap things up when you're ready.

Sort of. It passes through quests and when you level up skills. Just interacting with the world, going around killing things, that's fine. They said the game will always alert you when something you're going to do is going to pass time, and by how much, so you don't get blindsided.

A narration she recorded in 2011:
Creepy Scarlett - an introduction
IMDB credits https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4867484/?ref_=tt_cst_t_3

Seems unlikely that all these people are paying someone who's using a voice filter.

All women should be banned from gaming development, any team of developers that proudly displays their ******* women filled team is a studio that doesn't deserve your money.

Blood of Dawnwalker News! World Map, Omni-Combat, Relationships, "Pen & Paper" Freedom, Difficulty🩸
Guy goes over a paywalled gameinformer write up. Some old info, some new.
tl;dw
-Map is large but not enormous; apparently is content dense with verticality and multiple biomes.
-There's some kind of astral plane layered over the map.
-Directional combat, but it can be toggled off in favor of an "omni-directional" system that's been subject to Single-Player Balance™.
-Four difficulty settings with additional difficulty options independent of those.
-Putting points into certain skills costs "time"
-Will offer romance.
-Vampire form exclusive sword techniques.
-Developers supposedly drew from FO for quest and consequence inspiration.
-The player is allowed rush the antagonist and complete the game at any time if they're able.

Well, it's not a RPG, it's an action adventure akin to TW3 meets GTA.

Time limits are great. If you don't like them you are a libtard.

It's (probably) not an RPG for the same reason Witcher 3 is not an RPG.

I really should finish my essay on defining what an RPG is so I can just point to it. :dice:
