You can play Balatro with only a mouse.

I was under the impression that it still isn't feasible to play mouse-only, though?

You can play it with just a mouse. Some common tasks become more tedious -- clicking and dragging compared to just hitting a hotkey -- but it's possible.

I would say most card-based games as well most turn-based roguelites can be played with only mouse. If I had to give specific suggestions, I would pick these 3 games since they are the ones that stood out to me the most and I enjoyed them thoroughly even after completing all achievements.

Has anyone ever thought of making a game to be played with TWO mouses?

Yeah, you can play it even without the mouse. The game plays itself.

With an MMO mouse, most games can be made playable (anything quick-paced/action heavy will be painful though).

Pretty sure Black and White was meant to be played entirely with the mouse.

To be released, but according to the latest update completely playable with mouse only (or keyboard only). Demo already available.

Deckbuilders are the obvious ones, the best of which are Monster Train, Chrono Ark, Draft of Darkness, Cobalt Core, Trials of Fire, StS.

I have at least 20 more that are excellent but not quite as good as those games.

You can probably play most games one-handed if you get a mouse like this.

Sacred can be played only with a mouse as well, but it might become a bit tedious, though I quite enjoyed it myself before learning the keyboard indeed had buttons that could be used as shortcuts.

There are others, like Icewind Dale, Arcanum that I am seeing, Wizardry VI and many others that unfortunatly I can't recall at the moment as I am a bit scatterbrained these days. Do forgive me if these games were mentioned anywhere already  The search tool did not result in any matches so I am hopeful, but I cannot read the whole thread yet or I will start to make even more lists of games I want to play XD
For the same reason I lack the loquacity to make a thread for it just yet, as I did not find one when searching also, but I would love to see one made for games that can be played only using the keyboard  While I like the mouse, it takes me out of the games I play more than when I can just use both hands on the keyboard, which gives me a feel of immersion in a way, not sure how to better explain.
- Here to show my support for normal gaming.

Thank you for existing! :bounce:

Dungeon Keeper (2) and WFTO can not be, with good conscience, played with only a mouse.

If I remember correctly Castle of the Winds can be played using just a mouse.
(I think it benefits from keyboard hotkeys though.)

I think Eye of the Beholder can be played with a mouse... but I don't think it will be the best experience.

Will the OS even recognize two independent mice and not treat them both as being the same mouse?

I do believe that you could play Settlers 2 with 2 mice in splitscreen if that counts, I'm pretty sure I did that when I was younger with a friend.

Civilization 3 and 4, and Call to Power. They added an actions bar to the bottom and links to the civilopedia, city production pages, etc.

Grim Dawn can be played with only the mouse, provided you have enough buttons to map skills, potions, etc.
(If there aren't enough buttons on your mouse, you can also click on a skill in the skill bar and then select a target for it on the screen, but that is painfully slow.)
rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2024, 21:13
The IE games can be played with a mouse only, and any of their attempted 'successors'. Hotkeys obviously help, but it's not something that would break the game for you.
Making heavy use of automatic pause would probably help.
Vexingly Baldur's Gate: EE doesn't appear to allow you to map the pause button directly to the mouse. This doesn't mean there isn't a way to pause without binding the key, you just need to click the pause icon directly.

So I agree, completely doable!

I've used the same MMO mouse for years β€” they don't make the model anymore, I have to manually repair it. But it's nice to have a bunch of buttons. If you're going to be disabled long-term, not a bad idea to pick one up.

Can probably find a similar model from other manufacturers

Dragon Age Origins with its tactics system for companions is probably pretty decent to play with the mouse only since one of the movement modes is click to move. No need to even control party members.
