It's supposed to have all of that. I don't know what's in the early access release yet, though.Shillitron wrote: ↑ December 11th, 2024, 19:57I'm too lazy to read this thread.
Is there base building / crafting / survival systems like food / water / energy management ?

"go kill some gang guys"
ok
"ok now go back to the same exact map and kill some guys in the next house"
…
this is the very first two missions you're given
and so far everything has been entirely linear
[edit]
forgot to add that the game is seemingly capped at 60FPS

The problem is most EA are nowhere near beta-ready. I probably would be much more favorable towards it, if it would be indeed a true beta test, max. period 12 months, followed by a proper release.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ December 11th, 2024, 19:08**** like this is why I happy to never buy any early access game’s,I’m not playing for the pleasure to be your beta tester.1998 wrote: ↑ December 10th, 2024, 01:15EA release today, after 8 years.
"An incredible journey of over eight years reaches its harbor today. What began as a project that, on paper, seemed impossible has now become reality: Urban Strife.
This game was brought to life by a dedicated team of three devs, alongside a roster of amazing friends who generously contributed their expertise. It’s still a rough gem, waiting to be cut and polished—that’s why we chose the Early Access path. We believe this is the best way to finish our journey: together with you, the players. Those players who – same as us three - wanted more and always got less from their games, because “it is what our focus groups say is trending”.
Making this moment even more special, we’re launching Urban Strife with the support of MicroProse—a name that has been synonymous with gaming excellence for generations.
In the past two weeks, we shared an Early Access preview build with over 100 content creators. Thanks to their efforts, we identified and fixed a dozen critical bugs, resolved hundreds of minor issues, and introduced vital balancing and quality-of-life updates. Their generosity in donating their time and expertise has been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful to them.
To those who’ve said, “I like the game, but I’d rather play it when it’s out of Early Access,” we hear you, too. We invite you to stay with us on this journey—share your ideas and critiques, and help shape Urban Strife into the game you want it to be when it officially launches as version 1.0.
So… welcome to Urban Strife. If you’re curious about what lies ahead, we’ve prepared a detailed Early Access roadmap for you. If you’re ready to dive in, check out the introductory playthrough running on a loop on our store page, or explore the quick tips we’ve provided under the “Quick Reference” section of our Steam page.
Good luck out there, and thank you for your incredible support!"
Instead its virtually always devs running out of money, slapping together whatever they have trying to make some bucks.

This game was supposed to release fully ages ago. To put it into context, this was originally on steam greenlight.1998 wrote: ↑ December 12th, 2024, 01:18The problem is most EA are nowhere near beta-ready. The idea that this game was anywhere near release despite misleading potential customers, fans, etc., otherwise is ******.

Writing seems to be atrocious.
"Unlike Dead State, in Urban Strife characters and overall story are abysmall. 50% of people you'll meet in this game talk and behave like inbred children."
"Dialogue is atrocious and unbelievable. Please hire a dialogue writer."
"First and foremost, the writing is bad, just bad, "
"the writing is so nonsensical i am willing to bet money on the dialogue and story being written by some language model running on a 3060 or something"
"Too rough around the edges, and quite badly written. When they get around to hire professional writers and polish it a little more I might return, "

If this wasn't made by some slavs who have never been to America, I'd assume it was purposely meant to be offensive to southern whites.

The game has potential, but the writing is horribad, char progression is nonsensical and the game is very bare bones atm
Entering EA at this point i think just hurt them in the long term tbh.
The game ticks all the boxes for me but ****, 8 years for THIS? WTF

Comparing this to another based slav EA - Swordhaven, its a huge difference
Or comparing this to Broken Road and....same ****
I was hoping one out of these 2 would turn into something half decent, but looking bad.

From what i read, i have 0 interest in Broken Roads.
One positive point i can say in Urban Strifes defense is - male or female sex at char gen

True. Urban Strife I might try it out should they ever go 1.0. Broken Roads I probably wouldn't touch as bundle fodder.Ilovecheezecake wrote: ↑ December 25th, 2024, 18:46From what i read, i have 0 interest in Broken Roads.

Lack of bullet simulation wasn't really my problem with Dead State so I've kinda lost interest in this
It has all the ingredients of a great game, but so far its just one big ******* nothing
Released 10 Dec, 2024
We plan to be in Early Access for 6-12 months
I asked them, back when I was a more frequent poster on another certain RPG forum, if they could publish their game in Romanian, since... heh... you know... they speak the language.
Now I wish I didn't. And I hope they never do.
Just like Yves, I chase tales
