I don't know what everyone's plans are, but we should coincidentally link up at the inn, and petition as a group to the bailif, and if we can get his authority together, then go to the tallyman, then when its all settled, go to the priest so he knows we mean business. Maybe Iren means for us to talk to the three as a force.
Meeting up at the inn is a good idea. Everyone's got lodging there so the group gathering all at the same time for the night could easily happen.

As for the bailif. I think Stein, @Wolfgang von Schwarzscheid and @Norman are currently at the bailif's hall, but the guard is stonewalling any access to an official. Depending on if they get turned away or not, they could bring word back to the others at the inn of whatever Baillif Gerwin Voseric decides to offer any adventurer rat slayers?

Since @George is currently out for a walk around the town you could have him head to the Bailif's Hall if you want him to be part of whatever is about to happen there.

I think I've got everyone to post, but if you haven't posted yet - what with Easter and all that, I still have a few hours before I finish the next game post. So hurry and post your next action.

Paging all adventurers in Vertidor!
There is a new game post continuing the story of Chapter 1 and you are free to post your actions at will. Please roll the attributes assigned (plus bonuses or minus penalties), as a high number will bring something positive too your character, but a low number might not necessarily bring anything bad - it can just mean your character does not perceive something. Also, if you're planning on meeting a NPC your PC hasnt met before, it helps to roll reaction (2d6 + bonus/penalty) in advance. If you want to attack someone, Humbaba, roll initiative first.

If you have any doubts, suggestions, or anything wrong or strange, let me know here! Thanks again for playing :)

You got drunk so fast, you don't remember anyone.

But this is the reason why many RPGs allow you to "take 10 on d20 roll" if the situation isn't stressful. OTOH, in such a case you shouldn't make a roll at all.

@Irenaeus how does Luck work? I remember you mentioning some of your initial plans for it (affect all situations based on your judgment, and "burn" to make rolls), any concrete mechanics yet?

Hey Kal, the luck mechanics havent been outlined yet, but the idea will be to spend like 1 Luck point to increase your roll by 2 or 3. We can develop this in the rules thread later.

I think we should roll for when we're in a completely ****** situation and desperately need plot armor to get out of it.

Recovering from his exertion on the ground with his back against the sturdy wall of the Bailiff's Hall, Stein Von Steiner watches two men grab The Big One's body on Bailiff Gerwin Voseric's order. Words of protest almost escape him "That's..." before he manages to stifle them. As a merchant, he was well aware of consequences that could fall on his head if he earned the ire of a representative of the crown. He couldn't risk interfering with their commandeering of the massive rat.

The men half carried, half dragged the rodent away causing its clawed feet to scrap at the floor as they slowly remove it from the room. He watched the rat's face which had been fixed in a perpetual sneer as they assisted it in scurrying away, the dead thing's final retreat as it escaped his grasp.

He spoke with assurance and a determination as he accepted a copy of the Bailiff's writ, "We'll get these beasts." Stein then turned to @Norman and @Wolfgang von Schwarzscheid nodding to each man. "Gentlemen, I'll meet you back at the inn later. First I have some buisness to attend outside the town walls." With the weight of the rat gone, he could feel his strength returning. His mind turned to the next task, Donarin the furrier's deer pelts weren't going to move themselves.

Unwilling to allow his furry nemesis to completely slip away, Stein speaks with the clerk (Not daring to address Gerwin Voseric directly) and inquires about the tannery the rat is being taken to. He then asks that instructions be passed along not to dispose of the creature or damage the furry hide beyond what is needed for the investigation.

He says by way of explanation, "This carcass may be crucial to hunting the rest of these beasts," and then quickly leaves heading for the hunter's lodge outside of town where the shipment of deer pelts awaits him.

Ostgar heads to the bailiff and exaggerates the amount of tunnels and rats he found during his investigation with Alfwine, hoping to drive the bounty up. He does not mention the sigil, especially not the fact that he touched it and had a vision.

@Irenaeus Can I have Stein move to the inn and arrive during my next post, or do you want me to declare the intent to travel there after finishing the conversation with Leechmaster Frott?

The next thing to do is to call a psychiatrist to father Altanis. First thing he knows is that Kal climbed the ladder. Next thing he knows, nobody is up there. And there's no body.
