The major issue is going to be the main quest, where you are are railroaded into defending the synagogue from fellow Christians.

Even something as "simple" as Musa would require changing the model, the voice lines, the animations for the lipsynching on top of going through the whole game and changing the dialogue for every character that mentions or interacts with the ******.

And that's to say nothing about all the shitload of other vile content the game has in its side quests.

Realistically, no one is going to waste their time trying to do that, and it's even questionable if it possible to even do it.

I'm curious about that too. Vavra's behavior online isn't the kind of behavior you would see from someone who is happy with his game's success. Could be the autism or the consequences of being terminally online. However, his antics, such as doxxing people on X, is not what you would see from people who are successful with their endeavors. It could be that Embracer was expecting this game to be a smash hit. Something that would get them out of the financial hole they are in. The fact that they put all their hopes on this game to be a smash hit shows how desperate they are. The game sold well but it isn't going to be the smash hit AAA game that they want it to be.

100% agree. It's such a massive shift from the Vavra we all read about in articles after the release of KCD. Unapologetic to criticism and pretty chuffed with his studios work. I wonder how much elbow twisting it took to allow such an infection into their sequel. He's clearly on the defensive, Warhorse sold out and he knows it.

Outsource coding according to some Russian gaming websites. No specifics. Possibly helping with localization. But you still can't legally buy this game in Steam with no third parties involved if you have Russian region in the settings. Sanctions and ****.

Realistically, no one is going to waste their time trying to do that, and it's even questionable if it possible to even do it.

Best way to replace the Musa character without just chopping out the whole thing would be to split him into at least two characters : for example a middle-aged Greek physician for the "learned doctor who's travelled a lot" part, then you give him some Mediterranean mystery meat apprentice he picked up somewhere during his travels (could just be a dark-skinned Sicilian or something) for the "unusually dark-skinned character people are suspicious of" part. It means changing whole dialogues and reworking questlines on top of changing the models though yeah (i don't even know how feasible adding a character is), and then you've still got cutscenes to fix i guess, including some in the later story when you're robbing the silver, where the replacement characters probably wouldn't really fit either.

Then for the synagogue part of the story, the best fix i picture to give some impression of player choice, given how linear they made the story, would be to give dialogue options that antagonise their community but where you have to reluctantly help them because they're essential to your plans - for coherence, that would mean you need to add alternative versions of the cutscenes where you're not cosy-cosy with them though, and i don't know how feasible that is either.

Lots of work in any case for a result that surely would be far from perfect.
