More and more games are starting to resemble mobile games. Been watching Wilds playthrough and it's basically that. Loads of nonsense dialog, handler telling you what to do, on rails most of the time.
Rejoice! This is the industry we have wrought. :toot:

In the beginning of Morrowmind - a game released in 2002 - you're just taught how the control works and then the game literally tells you "you're on your own now bud, good luck!"

So far I've died like a dozen times but I would be lying if I said that I don't like how this game refuses to take my hand and spoonfeed me everything. I also refuse to look at online guides and **** like that.

The problem with Morrowind is that the game doesn't make it clear just how unenjoyable your play experience will be if you don't minmax skills at character creation. If you don't go all in on sword skills, then you are going to click a Cliff Racer 20 times and only hit with your sword twice. You really need to watch a character creation guide beforehand. Same issue with Oblivion and its levelling system.

I never even knew about this game when it came out nor do I look up stuff about it either to this day. I don't recall having a lot of trouble starting out though, I guess I chose well for starting stats and skills. My dad got this for me one year after asking someone at an EB-Games store "what's a good fantasy game with magic and the like out right now?" ( not being into games himself ) and the guy recommended this to him for me. Still have my original copy nearby on a shelf in mint condition, ( Book still smells 'new' ). I think I chose Argonian for my first character because they were the first non-human like race I saw. One of the best pick ups he ever got me next to Halo 1 with the Xbox itself to start. Thanks pops.

the idea that your brain is "fully developed" at 25 is some reddit-science ********
The brain continues to develop true, but 25 is when most people are no longer immature shits and this is backed up by statistics and the insurance companies. Your car insurance premium goes down when you're 25, you can finally rent a car by yourself without having an older person co-sign on it to accept liability.

The same is true for any high school/college graduate.
https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/misc/ind ... der_25.jsp
2. What is the cost of the Under 25 Rental Fee?
For renters under the age of 25, Hertz charges a young renter fee of $25 per day – below the industry average.

3. What cars can I rent when under 25?
Young renters are excluded from renting the Dream Car collection, Prestige collection, and the Adrenaline collection.
https://www.enterprise.com/en/help/faqs ... er-25.html
Young Driver Fees

In Michigan, any driver 18-20 years of age will be charged an additional 'Young Renter Fee' of $36.50 per day, while any driver 21-24 years of age will be charged an additional 'Young Renter Fee' of $15.75 per day.
In New York, any driver 18-20 years of age will be charged an additional 'Young Renter Fee' of $64.75 per day, while any driver 21-24 years of age will be charged an additional 'Young Renter Fee' of $30.75 per day.

All other renters under 25 will be required to pay a “young renter fee.” The average cost is approximately $25.00 per day but can be higher or lower based on the rental location.

Renters 21 through 24 years of age may be restricted to specific car classes.
They charge 21-24 year olds more per day and don't let them rent the fancy cars because they don't trust them to not do something reckless.

Have a yo-ho copy of "Resident Evil: Revelation 1" and " Operation Raccoon City " I have yet to get to but it's on the upcoming to do list. Anyone played these, have ini tinkers, or fixes/mods they recommend for stability or crash prevention issues I should know about? Trying to tackle the backlog and they are coming up soon.

I played both but cannot say there were fixes or similar that were needed to play either and they did not refuse to start or continually crash at a certain parts like other games, but, that said, I was told Oblivion is notorious for issues, and for me it was always butter-smooth even heavily modded, while Skyrim would give me a lot of issues, so I may not be the best to say on this matter.

I highly recommend PCGamingWiki for stuff like this. Here's the article on Revelations 1.

Revelations 1 doesn't really have any technical problems, unless you plan to play it on non-standard resolution (i.e. ultrawide or something). In that case you'll have to download a fanmade custom resolution patch. Oh, and if you're playing a non-English version, then you may encounter some issues because Capcom decided to skimp or localization costs and used some ****** machine translation tool.

Never played Operation Raccoon City on modern machines. Tried the game when it was new, couldn't play for more than one hour because it was so ****.

I see. I haven't played any of the newer over the shoulder games other than RE4 back on PS2 and RE5 PC with my brother one time. I ask because I had issues before playing RE5 with him. Getting the co-op going and some issue with cutscenes ending or transitioning/loading into new areas would cause him to disconnect. I don't recall how we fixed it but we did eventually. Bookmarked that article you sent me @WhiteShark for when I get around to them eventually. The resolution thing I can see as a likely culprit for an issue arising that @wndrbr mentioned. Thanks for the info fellas.

@DagothGeas5 Yeah I never had stability issues with Oblivion. Skyrim was fine though for me as a clean install aswell. New Vegas on the other hand when I was trying to play it years ago liked to crash randomly anywhere from 2 mins to maybe 20 max without mods. Used a patch for fixes/stability but nothing worked. Furthest I got in one shot without a ctd was after plunking the bottles and being introduced to the walking salamander thing further up the road. Those deserts remain unexplored to this day lol...

Gentleman, we have found him. The King of Autism.

I just learned he LOVED the pozzed up Spider-Man 2 game. Like, this quote:
"This is easily the greatest Spider-Man game I have ever played. Maybe even the greatest superhero game I have ever played. This is a 15 out of 10 game. There wasn't a single moment that was bad."
is taken straight out of his blind playthrough stream.
I am genuinely disappointed.

I would consider it to be visual novel territory if 75%+ of the gametime is spent reading dialogue boxes like in FF14 or later Trails games. How much of Disco Elysium's playtime is spent reading dialogue boxes? Versus gameplay like combat or solving puzzles or whatever you do in that game?
