The first Death Stranding was based largely on Kojima never getting to know his father and him not being part of his life. The sequel seems to be based on Kojima being HIV positive.

Peak autist voice. This is the old school kinda nerd that I would unironically trust more on the subject of video games than I would some ****** journo or an e-grifter.
I am going to watch this and enjoy it because I hate the RE remakes even though I only played RE4 once on my PC. I got as far into it as the house siege with the Spaniard guy. Then I just found the cinematic files in the game folder and would splice them up in Windows Movie Maker.

Gentleman, we have found him. The King of Autism.

I'm about two hours in and, man, I love this guy. He's very clearly autistic, but in the "channel all your brain processing power into vidya" kind of way. I usually watch long videos on 2x speed, but there's no need to do that here. He's blasting off with his teardown of every single flaw and deficiency of the remake while showcasing how much better the original game is. It's very entertaining to watch somebody who's so passionate and knowledgeable on the subject go into such a great detail.
These remake devs are like a cargo cult. No idea why the things were the way they were. They try to ape the style because they clearly have no substance but they still manage to **** up due to being so incompetent. And this is the case with nearly all of the modern AAA/mainstream devs/writers/producers. Nearly all adaptations ruin the original works' intent when they try to change anything: RE remakes, SH2 remake, cartoons like Invincible, or live action stuff like Netflix Avatar. It's a sad state of affairs, really.

So you would put this on the same level as Homer's Odyssey or J.R.R Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings?.

No, not really. I'm not going to compare an Internet autist nerd to classical authors. A YouTube essay does not compare to literary works of such great importance and influence, no matter how long or intricate the essay is.

the idea that your brain is "fully developed" at 25 is some reddit-science ********
plasticity even continues throughout your entire life

quit at 1 minute, I do not like this video. Thank you for sharing. :turtle:

Just use another term - maturity. Your whole body continues to change your whole life as well. You can build bigger muscles at 40 than you had at 20, but that doesn’t mean you weren’t physically fully developed at 20. The brain reaches structural maturity around 25 but learning and adaptation continue.

(Love Ryan! He is always on point and very funny! :D )

This type of analysis is what I dream of being able to put out one day. If we had even a fraction of the industry composed of people like this in the industry then maybe videogames might have been spared from the left-wing plague that has decimated everything else.

@A Chinese opium den

speaking of BLIMPS reminded me of this noir detective investigation game where the antagonist rides a huge blimp.

Technically fits the description of being whisked away to another world, and there are a few other games where that happens (FF14 Shadowbringers), but most people probably mean someone from our present mundane world being whisked away.

More and more games are starting to resemble mobile games. Been watching Wilds playthrough and it's basically that. Loads of nonsense dialog, handler telling you what to do, on rails most of the time.
