I'm so utterly disappointed by how this game turned out that I won't even be pirating it.

Of course not. You're not a ****** in a game copy of a real-life Shinto shrine.

Strange that Vavra is getting *** mad over this. He has been like this all day today. You would think with his game being successful that he would be happy instead of acting like an *** mad fairy on X. I wonder what he isn't telling us?

Pretty sure he is salty that his gotcha bait and switch didnt work because of the leaks. Probably ruined his years long plan.

Also watching synth stream right now, I dont think he ever really read up how the first game worked. He doesnt seem to know that stolen items need to be put in a chest for a while to lose the thievery tag. Also doesnt know what private areas are where you cant just wait... arround. Makes me wonder how he played the first game at all... probably just speed run the mainstory.

To be fair he did say that KCD isn't really his type of game but he still played it in order to compare it to KCD2 when he makes his review. Right now he says the writing is like night and day and he is right. The writing for the first game was immersive while with KCD2 it has more of the millennial writing that even normies have began to despise.

I heard about that. I remember Vavra going off about Unreal Engine talking about what a piece of **** it is but I think the real reason why he hates it is because Unreal Engine is very mod friendly. The last thing he wants is for people to mod out his gay fanfic and token ******* from his game. He is your typical neurotic, control freak Jew like Cuckmann.

Will have to wait and see, I don't think I'll ever bother, I don't even want to pirate this slop

Oh, he's still using the CryEngine allegedly, so I suspect it being modded out is a flat 0.

Yet there are hardly any mods for this game. Meanwhile Hogwarts Legacy and Baldur's Gate 3 have way more mods while being out for less time than KCD1.

The tools were so bad that people weren't even able to fix the manes clipping through caparisons without just taking them off of every horse.

The only things that were modded were textures, and some new items added to vendor lists.

Not really germane to the point that Vavra wasn't wringing his hands as he executes his conspiracy to choose a game engine purely because he didn't want people to mod out the ******* in a game he was going to make a decade later.

Maybe that's true, but he didn't make it easy to mod either. I suspect the tools were released to extend the games shelf life rather than for any other reason.

I don't know, some do it at launch just because they can, KCD's tools came late, so I suspect it was specifically for that.

So far the intro is pretty long which is unfortunate. It really does seem like there are zero developers who are willing to offer the elegant simplicity and freedom of Morrowind's quick easy start up. That being said I do like how dialog options let you flesh out Henry and your build depending on how you want his starting skills to be reflected. Something like this would be nice in a less story focused RPG without a defined protagonist where you could give yourself a bit of backstory while picking your starting skills. Sort of like traits in New Vegas but less abstracted and done through dialog.
The little bit of combat I've done has me feeling mixed. Unless I'm missing a dedicated lock on button the dead zone for the mouse is really wonky. I have to move the mouse around to pick my sword position but if I move it too far Henry will disengage and just look all the way in that direction.

EDIT: There is a lock on button the game just didn't tell me and I didn't bother looking a keybinds before complaining :king:
