Not as bad as I'd heard, but I still prefer the first game. Didn't like that item containers were laid out through levels like chests in a JRPG and that hacking into computers to read people's e-mail wasn't a thing.

A maintenance corridor doesn't sound like that weird a place for a toolbox. And I think we can justify it as that because there's only one openable loot container model in the game. Also, its reasonableness depends on what's in the box. If there are multi-tools in there or spiderbots or electric cells, that seems fine. But if there's an actual gun in there, then, yeah, that's silly.

I understand reusing assets, like they did with footlockers/upright lockers. If they had scaled that down and put a handle on it to make it some guy's toolbox near a work site, that'd have been fine. But it's a footlocker up neatly against a wall like it lives there for seemingly no reason. For these kinds of games, I have the expectation that things are placed for in-world reasons, even if it's a bit contrived. Not game ruining, just a minor disappointment.

I can't wait until in the future all ammo is the same, so if I get a mini nuclear imssile launcher, it will use the same ammo as my anal vibrator/stun baton or whatever. This game is forward-thinking and I'm a ******* genius for realizing this.

Would like to remind people that Oni had two ammo types and was a great game. The issue here was what they did, not that consolidated ammo is an intrinsically bad idea.

I was scrolling through my library and just realized I apparently have this game somehow. It has taken me a while to setup on Steam Deck due to having to troubleshoot with .ini files to prevent the UI from being cutoff preventing me from dropping items or seeing my credits. I'm just grateful that there are community layouts for mapping controls, otherwise I would be forced to spend even more time manually mapping every button and double-checking that they flow naturally.
It'll most likely take me a while to finish due to recent holiday preparations but I will get it done!

I'm still roaming around seattle. Took a wrong turn in club Vox and had to wipe out security. Then a hologram asked me about what was going on in a secure area as if I already new who it was and had taken a job from it... didn't tell the machine anything as I still want to buy a bio canister from Omar. It is kind of funny that Omar was still willing to trade with me after I killed his bodyguard right in front of himImage
Invisible War's idea of splitting the Concussion, EMP & Scrambler Grenades into both prox mine and thrown grenade items is a step down from the original Deus Ex. Just pointlessly takes up inventory space and makes them less fun to use.

Made it to the Mako Facility. Biomodes are now Regen (1), Hacking (3), Strength (3) and that seems to be handling everything I encounter. The setting is getting interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

My nomination for next month is DARK. I picked it up on a Steam sale recently and played the first level. Stealth RPG where you play as a vampire trying to find your sire. I didn't like the first few minutes but once it opened up into a mission instead of an interactive cutscene it won me over. Even has an HQ-compatible restricted save system.

Its a short game. If a game is more than 20 hours I probably won't beat it in a month but I beat this in a week.
