The Killing Time Remaster got released not long ago. Did three runs. One on medium difficulty, one on Very Hard which is comparable to Ultra Violence in Doom, and a speedrun on Very Easy. Total play-time has been, well, less than 9 hours. Its Time Trapped difficulty setting is like Ultra Nightmare on Doom, having enemies respawn. Not surprising given they worked with something from Doom to build their game.
I have to say, it is a B- or C-Tier shooter. For comparison, Doom, Blood, Quake, Heretic, Hexen, Duke Nukem, as well as modern titles such as Ion Fury, and various Doom Wads, they all rank (much) higher.
Biggest issue with Killing Time is its maze-like and at times boring level design, along with some bad enemy design, mainly non-humanoid ones, in context of combat. Despite this, it has some good content. The weapons are mostly enjoyable to use. Although, the Molotov Cocktails could use a higher hitbox. Story is fine, nothing exceptional.
The Remaster is good in that it allows to use features from both the Windows and 3DO version, the latter being the superior one. Can't tell if there are gameplay changes between features of either because it could have very well been due to the Very Hard difficulty features. Not worth its price, 15 $/€ at maximum.
Then there's the
Croc Remaster. Hopefully it does well, it's a charming platformer. Played it on the PSX.
