Man I love this Astarion look. Where do you have that from, or did you make it yourself?
He looks good vanilla, but I am just not a fan of elves not having long hair, even if they're vampires. This is great not only because it's nice looking by itself, but because it still feels accurate to the original design as it looks just like if he'd grow his hair out more, keeping the wavyness and all.

Indeed. Elves look best with long flowing hair, both men and women. I just wish BG3 had more tolkienesque styles.
The clothes are from the Astarion's Gear btw

Like Fin said the outfit is from the Astarion's Gear mod and the hair I use is "Male Hair 7 v2" from this mod

It's stupid that you can be a hideous gnome or half orc and it has no impact on the characters interactions with you
Back in the first Neverwinter Nights, your Charisma score determined if NPCs were kind or mean to you. Yet this "reactive" game doesn't even has that. lol

Only in regards to bartering which is similar to previous Larian games.

They could have created a hidden attractiveness score for the heads, cc options, and races
I can't imagine them or any other dev ever doing that though

I think Fable is the only game that had an attractiveness score, but it was for beards/ hair, and being a goody-two-shoes.

5th edition apparently does, but it is narrowed a bit. I don't see anything like henchmen rules, so I don't think it goes too deep into those concepts in terms of the 1st edition concept of three categories: attractiveness, persuasiveness, and personal magnetism.

I think they use Deception, Intimidation, Performance, Persuasion, and some minor checks for various social aspects (as well as spell casting use).

Very much up to the DM, I think. I use it in 3.5.

An example is given:
The easiest way to portray poor charisma is just being socially BAD in some way. Examples include continuously insulting people when not necessary and missing basic social cues

These are traits that can be found among some here, indicating that their charisma scores suffer. A clear 2 or 1 for some, I think. Hence, -4 or even -5 to reaction rolls.
But that was part of the brand, no? ;)

Fable also had the ability to get fat and muscular which would effect it. Your clothes mattered too.

Not just Larian's games, I think as UltraFan123 states that some charisma check was in use in NWN1 (at least in the main campaign), but in NWN2 (I think) the only check available is the Appraisal check, which is used in bartering. At least in the OC modules.
In BG1 and 2 charisma and alignment had an impact on the Reputation score (again, if I remember correctly).

Yet, in both NWN games it is possible for module writers to include such checks - the reason not many do is that it is of course time-consuming (one needs to write several brances of a single dialog. For minor NPCs one can of course use the same dialog, but it will look somewhat weird/"cheap" in the long run).
This is the reason I've probably started at least 50 modules in both NWN1 and 2 but only managed to finish 2 - the "ambient world" requires so much time and energy, that one easily runs into a wall and simply has to do something else for a time.

Wasn't it scariness vs attractiveness?
Eating too much food makes you more scary?
I thought it was just the visual decay from crunching whole chicks.

Ah, I remember the bandit disguise may have increased scariness, but I don't recall many equipment options in Fable 1, the tattoo options was another thing aside from the beards.
I didn't get to play Fable 2, which had a lot more options.

I just posted in one of the mod threads (Better Aesthetics) about an issue I've been having relating to mismatched mods in multiplayer and the game giving false positives concerning mods, and I thought I'd just mention it and link it here in case anyone is having problems or have them in the future.

I've also sent Larian my Mods folder, my modsettings.lsx, and my saves, so hopefully they'll fix whatever the **** they broke at some point.

Basically, if you're having problems joining a modded multiplayer game despite having the exact same \Mods\-folder and modsettings.lsx, the first thing you should try to do when joining is to simply untick and re-tick all the mods in the list.

Yeah, I'm mad.

Why would Larian even respond? Do they not have a boiler plate "we are not responsible for any modded content or issues stemming from it" policy?

Because this isn't actually caused by modded content, it's caused by their mod-detection system. It was actually better when they didn't care about mods, because at least then they didn't spit out false positives when checking for mod compatibilities. They actually really should care about this, because it's actually caused by something they created specifically to deal with this to begin with.

It's honestly an odd position for them to take. They really should just have said "You're playing with mods, and we're detecting potential issue since some of these are third-party, but go ahead", not literally block us from playing with incompatible mods (that aren't even incompatible). Really, it's the fact that they have taken such a firm stance in trying to prevent people to play with incompatible mods that causes this to begin with.
