The BG3 NoAlphabets RPGHQ mod pack has sparked controversy due to its removal of gender and sexuality diversity from the game. This decision has led to a mixed reaction from the gaming community, with some users loving the mod for its nostalgic value and others hating it for its perceived anti-LGBTQ+ stance.
Nostalgia and Aesthetics
On the one hand, some fans of the Baldur’s Gate series appreciate the mod’s ability to recreate the original game’s aesthetic and gameplay experience. They enjoy the retro feel and the sense of nostalgia it brings. For these users, the mod’s removal of modern features and inclusivity is seen as a way to preserve the classic game’s integrity.
Inclusivity and Representation
On the other hand, many players are critical of the mod’s decision to remove gender and sexuality diversity from the game. They argue that this move is a step backward in terms of representation and inclusivity, and that it perpetuates harmful stereotypes and discrimination. The mod’s removal of pronoun options and transgender symbols has been particularly criticized, as it erases the identities and experiences of non-binary and transgender individuals.
Community Reaction
The controversy surrounding the mod has led to a heated debate within the gaming community. Some users have praised the mod for its commitment to preserving the original game’s aesthetic, while others have condemned it for its perceived anti-LGBTQ+ stance. The mod’s creators have faced backlash and criticism, with some users calling for the mod to be removed from platforms like RPGHQ.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the BG3 NoAlphabets RPGHQ mod pack is both loved and hated due to its controversial decision to remove gender and sexuality diversity from the game. While some users appreciate the mod’s nostalgic value and aesthetic, others are critical of its perceived anti-LGBTQ+ stance and its erasure of non-binary and transgender identities. The controversy highlights the importance of representation and inclusivity in gaming, and the need for developers and mod creators to prioritize diversity and respect for all players.

Leftism is a mental illness. Btw I really like how this person (?) tries to spin it as if the mod is meant to cater to "nostalgia" (I'm not even sure he knows what this word means) rather than to simply unpozz a revoltingly OVERpozzed game which is more akin to an LGBT propaganda platform rather than any serious epic fantasy RPG.orinEsque wrote: ↑ May 30th, 2024, 02:30I asked it why it's loved/hated

HAHAHAHHAAH ******* hell, **** just can't help letting their hatred for blacks slip through.
Unrelated but just saw a clip of Astarion's voice actor claiming he thinks it's bad to characterize Astarion as a villain because human beings are too complex to be black and white or something.
So in his opinion, calling a fictional character evil because he enjoys murdering people is bad, but calling a real-life person (Dammon's VA) evil because he followed right-leaning twitter accounts is good.
Every actor needs to prep for interviews by watching this clip from now on:

The normalization of weakness, mental illness and degeneracy directly benefits these people who are weak, mentally ill and degenerate. So, obviously, they do everything in their power to portray this as the right thing.replay wrote: ↑ May 30th, 2024, 17:31Holy jesus, i just realized how nexus banned mods present here while is full of mods that turn for example more black characters. transgender minthara or halsin etc, nothing wrong against any of that. customize your game to your hearth content but the ipocrisy of nexus m. is shameful tbh. honestly everything was fine i liked aylin arc alfira etc.. until i met in game lucretious and the two ***** kids, that's where i felt disgusted, lucretious being the most obnoxious npc in the game and what they did to those 2 kids was revolting.
I think wotc had a hand in this since sven didn't want any of that.
Also having a ratio of 10 to 1 gay couples/straight couples in game isn't accurate at all it felt like all of faerun was gay.
Even the emperor ansur relationship was a bit weird, they were supposed to be two friends bound by duty and adventure with sense of honor until the end when you pick up a note and it felt like a capricious relationship between two 15 years old...
This has nothing to do with being homophobic or racist, i think i'm being reasonable.
Woke mental illness virus can affect anyone, that's why i always say do not generalize... i have a gay friend he played the most gigachad mc male romanced shart and was upset by the amount of wokeness gay couples in game.

I was willing to ignore Lucretious until he started being rude and condescending for no reason. At least try to make him likeable or funny (and the reward for spending hours hunting down clown body parts was something I didn't even use/want).replay wrote: ↑ May 31st, 2024, 11:56honestly everything was fine i liked aylin arc alfira etc.. until i met in game lucretious and the two ***** kids, that's where i felt disgusted, lucretious being the most obnoxious npc in the game and what they did to those 2 kids was revolting.

I see one can now download a mod that makes Sarevok a woman on Nexusmods. There is no indication that Nexus are going to take that down.
Having standards is good, having double standards is double that good, Nexusmods?

The double standard is literally written into their ToS. Anything that "adds" diversity is ok, anything that "removes" it is not.fkirenicus wrote: ↑ June 1st, 2024, 07:59I see one can now download a mod that makes Sarevok a woman on Nexusmods. Of course "diversity" means no straight white people.

I just found out about this page from an article written by a very angry woke person. Obviously his intention was to attack you publicly, but he did me a huge favor by mentioning the name of the page and the existence of this mod... thank you woke person for the info! :v
I'm about to finish Baldurs Gate 3, I bought it recently and I had no idea what an absurd amount of woke ideology it has. act 1 and 2 are passable, but when I got to act 3, where it seemed like all the citizens and refugees you talked to were gay... (it seems like 2 out of every 10 couples in the city were gay). I tried to ignore it so as not to spoil my experience, but it was just too much as I progressed through the story. and the racial "diversity", even within specific races such as dwarves etc, had me so puzzled... the duergar are a unique race, why would there be within them dwarves with Asian, black facial characteristics etc? It's something quite strange. Arriving in the city of Baldurs Gate felt like arriving in New York LOL... okay, I'll stop complaining, haha, but I had to get it out of me :V
I must mention that finding this place feels like a relief. I would love to have the knowledge to be a modder and be able to contribute, but I don't know anything about that. I'm a digital artist, I could help by changing portraits and that, but with AI we artists are no longer needed LOL. However, I will contribute as I can with donations. Thank you very much for your effort and for creating this place.

You don't even need a pronoun because the element already includes a discrete proper noun.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ May 29th, 2024, 14:59I doubt there was any ill intent using they there.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ May 29th, 2024, 14:56Yes, it should be she. Using they as a generic singular pronoun is becoming increasingly common, especially among young people, but it's ungrammatical and the justifications for it are based on a misunderstanding of historical usage.Madness wrote: ↑ May 29th, 2024, 14:47I'm not a native English speaker but shouldn't it just be 'she' in this case?

I love how they always mention that stupid argument that because it is a fantasy world everything is valid. dear, there is a big difference between the fantastic and the plausible. If in the world of Faerûn the armies use swords and bows, the political organization is typically medieval and the aesthetics in general are medieval, why is it socially modern?
If the "fantasy" genre is a blank page to enter any implausibility or ridiculousness, for Baldurs Gate 4 I want an Ethiopian ninja, a Japanese Spartan woman and a hitman from Sinaloa with an M16 as adventure companions... it's fantasy afterward of everything right?
Thank you very much for the welcome!!. I'm definitely going to take a look at the modding tutorial. I'll look into the other games you mention where they require art, I can definitely help. I know AI already exists, but sometimes it doesn't look as good as one would expect. With some adjustments by hand I could even make the portraits have the same style as the original game, something that the most purists would surely like.orinEsque wrote: ↑ June 4th, 2024, 22:56amlaith wrote: ↑ June 4th, 2024, 22:13I just found out about this page from an article written by a very angry woke person. Thank you very much for your effort and for creating this place.Hello and welcome new friends!0xInternal wrote: ↑ June 4th, 2024, 22:24thank you for creating this mod, will add it to my collection

I've put up a guide for those who would like to get started with modding BG3 here:

If you're any good at blender you can help us out. If not I know the NoAlphabets equivalent of pathfinder (Wokeless wrath) requires portrait work, you can lend a hand there too![]()
If I learn modding, I would like to make a mod...It may sound radical to some, but another thing apart from so many LGBT couples in the game, I was also uncomfortable with the fact that it seems that all the high ranks, such as commanders, captains, etc., were always occupied by women. I don't know, but so far I have not seen any male commander (as was common in medieval times) or captain or high rank that is not held by a woman. I repeat, at first I didn't even realize it, but it became so recurring that you notice it. I don't know how difficult it would be to change that. but it's worth a try. I will study the tutorial :3

First: look at the profile picture... it's a *****.
Second: seems like MANY players are "having it" by our download count, ******.
Third: we don't want "less gay" we want it non-gay, in all the senses of that phrase. Astarion excepted, it seems.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.
If you can.

Yes the de-girlboss mod is something on my mind. Just haven't had the time/will to get started yet. The resources on the forum should get you started with Aesthetics Changes and Voice as well.amlaith wrote: ↑ June 4th, 2024, 23:33here it isAcrux wrote: ↑ June 4th, 2024, 22:17Show usamlaith wrote: ↑ June 4th, 2024, 22:13I just found out about this page from an article written by a very angry woke person![]()

If the "fantasy" genre is a blank page to enter any implausibility or ridiculousness, for Baldurs Gate 4 I want an Ethiopian ninja, a Japanese Spartan woman and a hitman from Sinaloa with an M16 as adventure companions... it's fantasy afterward of everything right?![]()
Thank you very much for the welcome!!.
Victors clap when others succeed; Losers feel every spotlight as a personal bleed.
At least the next BG3 patch is supposed to be the last major one so you won't have to worry about Larian breaking anything anymore.orinEsque wrote: ↑ June 4th, 2024, 23:54Yes the de-girlboss mod is something on my mind.
