Woops, small mistake

But why? Why would you want the Kotaku or Polygon name on your profile?Finarfin wrote: ↑ December 17th, 2024, 19:00I approached Rusty with the Idea of 1) Giving reviewers "Journo" badges when they do 1, 5, 10, 15 and 20 reviews
It's literally the HQ insider joke. The "Titles" are placeholders since I might change them to:logincrash wrote: ↑ December 17th, 2024, 19:11But why? Can't say I read any of these, but still they are all the same to me. Wouldn't call IGN superior in any way over Kotaku or Polygonlogincrash wrote: ↑ December 17th, 2024, 19:43Yeah, I get the self-deprecating nature of the badges. I even knowingly and smugly chuckled when I first saw the IGN badge. But Kotaku and Polygon have such a wretched reputation by now that it feels like calling yourself a jewish pedophile as a joke.
I don't have a strong stance on this, by the way. Just making conversation.
I'm changing the color scheme on the IGN one tomorrow and let Rusty know. Besides, atleast the logos are attached to real journos on the HQ and not some ******* who push their gay agenda.Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 01:07I think the IGN logo / Respected Game Journalist badge is funny as a one-off but I don't like leaning too far into it like that
... also, seeing it on 1998's post there, I'd swap the red and blue parts so the "buttons" stand out a bit more on the background
I'm satisfied with what I delivered in this post (and the Invisible War badge is updated nowrusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 02:13What's the status of the AG badges?

@J1M @Silver).
Obviously other people can continue to iterate on them if that's what you'd like.
This symbol / background looks the best for AP, and stands out the most.
Obviously I like this ideaFinarfin wrote: ↑ December 17th, 2024, 19:00I tried my hand at these, they are obviously very amateurish since the Polygon one has squiggly lines and the IGN and Kotaku ones also have some small blemishes. I approached Rusty with the Idea of 1) Giving reviewers "Journo" badges when they do 1, 5, 10, 15 and 20 reviews and 2) have the most well known journo site logos in the HQ colors. I like the IGN one so far which you most likely saw already since Rusty changed it but The Kotaku and Polygon one might need some fixing and I still need to do the rest. Here is a list of the badges I thought of:
- 1 Review – "Respected Games Journalist"
The IGN Logo.- 5 Reviews – "Kotaku Contributor"
Just the K of Kotaku.- 10 Reviews – "Polygon Writer"
The Polygon logo.- 15 Reviews – "Eurogamer Analyst"
The round logo with the european continent.- 20 Reviews – "Gamespot Veteran"
The Gamespot G.

I think Hexx: Heresy of the Wizard is the only other game without one at the moment.
Oh. Well. I can update all the existing badges with better frame? But I'll need the original pictures used for them from J1M or someone else who can provide those, just so badges won't lose more quality.
Suggest a piece of pixel art for the pin?SpellSword wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 17:33I think Hexx: Heresy of the Wizard is the only other game without one at the moment.

Preferably it would be an important item from the game art rather than the box art for these OG AG pins. But if no better suggestion emerges I could scale the eye down to fake it.Tangerine wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 18:07His eye would be neat if it scales well.J1M wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 18:06Suggest a piece of pixel art for the pin?SpellSword wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 17:33

Something like this?
@Tweed was there any pixel art that stood out for you in Hexx: Heresy of the Wizard?J1M wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 18:09Preferably it would be an important item from the game art rather than the box art for these OG AG pins. Maybe a bit smaller, so that brow is more in frame and it reads like an eye better?SpellSword wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 18:15Something like this?

I'm no Tweed. But this skull (?) looked really cool to me.SpellSword wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 18:25was there any pixel art that stood out for you in Hexx: Heresy of the Wizard?

Would be a fine pin for nu-AG, but for OG AG we are using a consistent styling of pixel art on top of bicolor background. You'd need to use a different scaling mode to accomplish that effect.SpellSword wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 18:15Something like this?

I didn't know it was OG AG

I have an idea about how to differentiate OG AG pins from regular ones without having necessarily stick to split colour background.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ December 18th, 2024, 19:09I like the original eye even if it doesn't match the scheme for other badges![]()
