DAO is unironically the best Dragon Age writing wise, even if the graphics aged relatively poorly. It lacks so many of the flaws of later games. Even the obnoxious woke pandering Bioware is now known for is barely existent, it basically only comes up if you actively pursue it yourself. And for that you only have a single option who might die before you even recruit him (because back then characters still had their own preferences instead of being "player-sexual").
