Yeah that looks ****** up. This wouldn't be a problem if the dog could use consumables by himself like other companions, but... it's a dogDagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 01:11Let me illustrate the problemrusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:56Been a while since I played, but you should be able to use any usable item by either equipping it or opening the action menu on an NPC and using it on them?DagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:54Is there some way to target companions to heal them through some UI or something that is not the inventory screen? IIRC I had to tell the dog to stay back for most of the later game fights as he would go down way too fast.I can target him when they do a certain frame of their combat idle animation (which frees up space enough for me to time the click), but it doesn't seem to always work and though my AP are used, Dzhulbars is not healed. He is being pretty buff so far in my game due to armor I found for him, but he has been an issue in this area's fights indeed (I have yet to do the main quest actually, so I am assuming this is an endgame area). For more in-depth on where I am now with the game if it's of interest: I refused to kill the pig for the cult and wanted to raid the door, but the whole city turns on me as soon as it opens, and last time I tried even just chargin on there are too many powerful enemies underground for me. So I am powering up before storming the place. I also found a bunker in the Mountain Pass (with a corridor having a Mycellum ATOM agent that I am putting the fight off for the moment, so I assumed there will be another bunker here as the way to access Dead City was similar (pay a large sum to arrive), which I am searching for alongside exploring everywhere.► Show Spoiler

If i remember correctly you can open party inventory mid fight at the cost of some AP and heal companions from there with no restrictions.DagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:54Is there some way to target companions to heal them through some UI or something that is not the inventory screen? The AP cost for my character means my turn is to open the inventory only and am left with 3 points I can only use if I use my knife, so it is viable only as a support strategy.MrTwinkls wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 14:43If i remember correctly you can open party inventory mid fight at the cost of some AP and heal companions from there with no restrictions.DagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:54Is there some way to target companions to heal them through some UI or something that is not the inventory screen? You can also load your companions' weapons through the inventory like this so they won't take a whole turn before being able to shoot again (drag and drop the bullet onto the weapon). For anyone that didn't know, you can heal your companions like this by giving them a healing drug, then opening their side of the inventory and then Use it.
As this does not have any range restrictions and it almos feels like cheating to me in a way, I myself roleplay that my character uses his turn to manually fiddle with their things and inject them as needed, and as a rule only use it when he is close range with them.

I think companions can heal themselves in their turn if they have stimpaks in their inventory. Healing them on your turn is more effective though because you get full inventory manipulation access for 4 AP and can heal them more than once if it's what you want.
Exploring the underground rail network beneath the Dead City has been very enjoyable. Atmosphere and NPC-wise as well.

Wanted to share that if you find yourself in a very time-consuming fight like a certain area of Dead City I discovered, battles move along faster if they are out of the camera's range (meaning that you can pan away so you don't see them). The battle speed can also be accelerated through an option under the Game section and, though I disdain speeding up combat, a particular fight was taking truly far too long due to the sheer amount of enemies present (of which turn mostly was "take a few steps forward").
Another thing but it is quite spoiler and it should be discovered by oneself so do be mindful.

Does anyone know if the Stalker merchant (Dubravin) at the Stalker base that gives you the glass eye to be buried, can be saved? I tried different things, and even got an achievement because of digging up the nearby graves, but he still ends up hexed. I even had a toadstool to cause hallucinations and see this Sonya and hope to deal with her, but it did nothing in this quest

ATOM is one of the few RPGs that continues to get better the longer you play. Most RPGs start out strong and taper off.Valter wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 21:46Exploring the underground rail network beneath the Dead City has been very enjoyable. Atmosphere and NPC-wise as well.

I only see a sack ("Ermac" Rucksack) and he scolds me as a thief if I try to interact with it, but, though the sack is probably not even his, it is a path to look into, thank yourusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 23rd, 2025, 04:53DagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ March 23rd, 2025, 04:42Does anyone know if the Stalker merchant (Dubravin) at the Stalker base that gives you the glass eye to be buried, can be saved? I have found that most video games follow this, as is only natural. At the start I imagine devs have that fire in their soul, that glimmer in their eyes to give it all they got, to materialize their vision. But as time goes on, I can see a "we have to wrap this up" feeling come into play, either by burnout or by looming deadlines.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 23rd, 2025, 04:56ATOM is one of the few RPGs that continues to get better the longer you play. Not to mention a shorter game is more easy to plan the experience around. And in long-*** RPGs in particular, I can see how it's hard to keep up the same quality over 60+ hours. It requires meticulous planning, and I find most devs only have a concrete plan and vision for the first 20-30 hours. And I don't blame them.
So it feels like a proper layout was set from the start of what the devs wanted for this game, a proper planning of what they wanted the game to be well into the late game as well. It's an uncommon and I imagine exhausting feat, but also a commendable effort.
Would much rather RPG devs not make their game 80 gorillion hours long if they don't properly plan it out. Just make it shorter and sweeter.

Any Fallout mods for this?
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
Went looking for a few, but am fearing spoilers so I can't really say for certain. So far I found a mod that adds Fallout weapons only, but have seen a most interesting post about someone wanting to recreate the first two Fallout games using ATOM, though I do not think it went anywhere in the end. But if something like that is possible to even consider there may be great mods out there for this game

Better game than I expected. Honestly dropped it a few times around the early game as the world did not particularly enthrall me, but the splendidly enjoyable gameplay loop kept me rolling.
Soon enough, I grew to appreciate the world (in no small part due to the great ambient soundtrack) as well as its factions, though I still can't name more than a couple memorable characters.
Okay writing, good gameplay. Decent game.

I nominate Fear & Hunger, a macabre turn-based survival RPG with an emphasis on dungeon crawling and resource management.

Shouldn't they be more focused in getting Swordhaven out first?

Was this posted before or after they made Trudograd? If after, sounds like a sequel is confirmedAcrux wrote: ↑ March 23rd, 2025, 23:22The ATOM team put out a survey on what people would like to see in a sequel:
