Hey, I found this mod because somebody complained about it on Reddit. Something about racist and homophobic.
Thanks to him I can enjoy Baldur's Gate 3 more than before. :)
Is this still being brought up on Reddit or was it an old post?
Or is orinEsque intentionally shilling it on Reddit by striking up fake outrage
Nah, people keep shilling NA on steam, and nexus trolling without me having to lift a finger.

P.s. I never uploaded No Alphabets to nexus. People seem to think its the mod banned from nexus and was posted here. No. this mod was conceived in MODHQ and built here. Other people posted it and keep posting on nexus and got banned (not that I mind, cuz it was hilarious).
Thank you for the clarification

The game has just won several distinctions for its "diversity" even in cultural works we are not spared, even at home in our privacy.

As soon as it's revealed they're a couple, they both cease being characters. They literally don't say anything that isn't some variation of "OMG I love my girlfriend uguu~~~". You could cut it all.
100% to the point. I actually have no problem with DAME Aylin, nor her being lesbian. But the not-very-good impression she gives when meeting her the first time in the Shadowfell turns to me facepalming when meeting with her in the camp afterwards, and she reveals herself to be a rather shallow, obscene and "ooooh look how gay I am!" character that has no depth at all, really. Same with Isobel. So yeah, you hit the spot with your comment, Oyster Sauce.

That said, I would actually like a version that makes her remain - well, her, and lesbian, since obviously Isobel is female :-) - and rather either cuts her irritating "I've got a darling to adore" or better yet, aims to re-write dialogs to make her the complex character she ought to be. She, a celestial being, has been imprisoned and killed over and over for a century, and all she wants to talk about is her "darling"? This is some serious bad writing by Larian (probably with much input from WotC, I suspect).

Also, some of the rest of the same-sex relationships and marriages just seem weird - probably because they are overdone/exaggarated (almost everyone in this game is gay, it seems at times).
The only hetero couple I can remember right now (because I just did that quest) is Locke and Komira, and they are killed... and yeah, the alleged dwarf wife-beater. And Danis, who as far as I know dies, leaving poor Bex alone.

I found this because of bragging from "tolerant" and "inclusive" people who celebrated the mod being removed from Nexus. Like many others, I guess.

They hate our guts and want to take away everything we love, corrupt everything we cherish.

Luckily, there are based people like the creator(s) of this mod to remove the trash and reclaim our heritage.

You can save both Danis & Bex and they marry in Baldur's Gate, I believe they are the only canon hetero traditional successful couple in the game.

Well, I failed to find Danis both in the PS5 game with the bos... eh, wife, and my own PC modded game... I'll have to look into how I can save Danis, then.

EDIT: Actually, I must simply have missed him after we freed the tieflings from Moonrise. Went to BG, so can't go back to talk to him in my co-op game on PS5 with my wife. Will look out for him in my own modded PC game, once I free him. :-)

Fun fact, I was reading the comments in the comment section of Hotfix 19 and saw somebody who wrote a HUGE praising text about the representation of LGBTQA people in Baldur's Gate 3. My first impulse was to annoy him a bit and posted all my mods I downloaded from this site under his comment. After that I looked up his steam profile and I got the impression that he is just a troll. He never replied to me but in the newest Hotfix 20 he wrote another huge comment, "complaining" about all the mods I listed and enumerated them all in his own text. It was hillarious, because some of the community members replied to him and wished him to get banned or censored. I thanked him for spreading true diversity. :D

I'm sure he is actually promoting these mods. A few community members know he is a troll, a large part doesn't. He get quoted a lot in the comment section and this surely helps to make these mods more known around the community. :)

Aylin is no matter what a horribly written character. Pretty much the embodiment of Larian's "we're into fantasy for the luls" mindset.

I think it actually goes a little deeper than that. She has all the signs of a creator's pet or Mary Sue. Child of a really important canon figure, tragic backstory, immortal, talks down to the protagonists, #girlboss moments galore and a girlfriend whose entire personality boils down to being in tru wuv with her.

She's Rey with a pair of wings.

Friends, I don't know if this is a bug or something... but the mod "Show Approval Ratings in Dialogue Choices" doesn't work for me.

But I'm not sure if it's my fault or what, since this mod is somewhat complicated and actually conflicts with NoAlphabets' Lingo... Could it be that it can be fixed?

Since it is a quite useful mod (for me, I haven't finished the campaign yet lol) and I would like to use NoAlphabets and the other mod (Show Approval Ratings in Dialogue Choices) for my game...

Obviously, it's not urgent either, I'm just putting it here out of curiosity! And well, thanks for reading~

(I am improving and practicing on the translations of the mods.
I know it would be good to make a separate post for that, but right now I don't have my PC)

Have a nice day!~

Honestly, in the current year, you can never know. Countless time I expected something ridiculous to be satire, only for it to turn out to be completely sincere.
Just merely saying that I use the Ser Aylin mod was enough to make the Rainbow Mafia hurl a bazillion insults at me lol

This. As much as I hate ***** and wish they were all separated and distributed among men, I didn't hate Alfira and Lakrissa - but I do hate Aylin and Isobel.
When people talk about which character they ship with which, I always say that I ship Aylin with Lorrokhan, and Isobel with The Dark Urge's blade.
Even if you make Aylin a man - which is what this mod does, among other things, which definitely makes him far more tolerable - he still has a lot of glaring issues, such as him and Isobel ceasing to be characters altogether the moment hey are reunited. By the time you free Aylin, your characters are practically God-killing machines, and then here's this completely new Mary Sue character, completely stealing the show and acting all high and mighty.... only to be useless in combat, forcing you to babysit him/her. Also, even after all the **** goes down, Aylin's story goes nowhere, (s)he just disappears until the very end after you beat Lorokhan. Like, that's it? But then again, maybe that's a good thing, given how ****** and annoying the character is.

You can't really fix millenial writing.

It's because you're (almost guaranteed) a male and don't find feminine lesbians offensive. Aylin is offensive because it's a woman trying to be a man.
Heterosexual women presumably find all lesbians to be disgusting the same way heterosexual men generally find homosexual men to be disgusting.

Not sure. While I do find homosexual men to be disgusting on an instinctive level, I actually hate lesbians more than gay men, because I view lesbianism as a form of ultra-feminism and misandry. It's a veeeeeery long story, how I came to revile them so much.
Aylin telling the main protagonist to "begone" from his own camp just further reinforces the idea, that she's a feminist ***** who needs to be put in her place.

TL;DR: I forbid girls from women from being sexual with each other or loving each other. Women should love men, especially given the epidemic of male loneliness. Alfira and Lakrissa get a pass because they don't advertise their sexuality like Aylin and Isobel do.

Unfortunately, your can have only 1 Lingo file. So if you want both, paste the changed lines from no alphabet to the one from Show approval rating.

"Epidemic of male loneliness" Is there really such a thing ? And is it bad ?

I feel like by logic if there are more lonely men then there are more lonely women too.

Image

28% of men vs just 18% of women.

The loneliness epidemic is primarily effecting men, because a man wants a woman to himself and does not want to share (it would be ****** to share). Women will just share a smaller number of men among each other.

But we're getting really off-topic here.

Yes.
If it's an epidemic, that would imply it's bad in magnitude. Are you asking if it's a bad thing that there are lots of lonely men?

No. That would only be true in a society where it was normal for people to get and stay married.

Does anyone have that aforementioned "Less quirky" mod? It sounds like something reasonable but Mod Nexus blocked it at the moment, can't read what it does. Would it be compatible with NoAlphabets?

It sounds like it was meant to do the same thing, that being an edit to character's hair among others.

So they mods would likely conflict.

Now that I think of it, it's probably already covered by Better Asthetics.
